If it wasn't for the free weekend, I wouldn't have found this gem. It's one of those games that's great when you just want a quick release - you can play for just 10 minutes or lose yourself for 3 hours.

How many other people decided to pick this up as a direct result of the free weekend?

Yeah, I tried it out with the promo. About thirty minutes was all it took to convince me. Best five bucks I've spent in a long time.

Another one of those games that pops up in your library so you decide to download it and try it.
About an hour later valve gets $4.99 richer.

It just popped in my Game Library and I thought "Hey, I didn't buy this, must be a free demo". Tried it, loved it. Saw the price, around 5 Euros, well worth it.

Its like they took Crimson Skies and smashed it in with Call of Duty and sprinkled a little Pocket Tanks on top of it.
For 5 bucks who can resist. Best Indie game I've seen in a long time.
Will certainly buy add-ons if they are priced in the under $5 range.

Pretty much my take on it too, except I was thinking more TF 2 than CoD. :P

It even made me wish for a "Meet the..." series of videos for the different planes.

Lol, that would be hilarious.

I agree with your guys' assessments, but would like to add that "Plane Ball" reminds me a bit of this Indie free-to-play game from back in the day called "Uniball".

I hope they put out some DLC for this game sometime soon I'd buy it for sure.
New game modes, new planes and new perks would be awesome.

And slap on a free weekend when those come out and draw in even more players.

fun while it runs, but could not get it to run longer than a few mins. Constant crashes to desk top.
Need another free weekend to get it fixed.

Got me to buy it. I figured it was a simple flash type of game where skill wouldn't really matter. Turned out there is a definite difference between skills in this game. I'm currently level 33. Most annoying plane in the game would be the one that teleports behind you and shoots a big laser. Once I reach a high enough level I'll be practicing with that one.

it was back then, when the golden twenties startet.

Nah, I'm a cheap ♥♥♥ overall, and I have an embarrassing backlog, so I'll wait until it goes deep (two-and-a-half bucks is my sweet spot).

I love it! Best indie game I've played in a long time and it's putting this controller I bought a long time ago to use. Also, my thumb is getting sore :D

I had debated buying it a while back, but the free weekend and demo convinced me very quickly that it was worth buying. It looks simple, but is deceptively deep an very fun. I've bought quite a few Indie type games lately, and thought some of them were really good, such as Nation Red, but this one is the best I've picked up in a while.
