Over at the Brink forums someone was dedicated enough to compile all the data they could find into a single post. I thought I would bring it to attention over here because I enjoyed reading it so much.
20 pages of reading for everything about Brink (http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1102014-brink-info-compendium-v2/)
DO IT! :D
It is very long, but being a Wolf ET player it answered a lot of questions I had. If the dev diaries (http://brinkthegame.com/) and gameplay footage (http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/55576/Brink-E3-2010-HD-Direct-Feed-Gameplay-Movie) interested you the read may be worth while. If you've played Wolf ET or Quake Wars and liked either of those you should definitely read it.
Overall the game isn't an RPG, it's a team objective fps similar to TF2 and exactly like ET. It is no where close to Borderlands or Hellgate London. The art style is to avoid the over done "go for realistic" as well as avoid the uncanny valley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley) effect. XP, unlockables and character customizing makes it less repetitive. Leveling up provides small bonuses and skill varieties like in ET but you do not get clear advantages at high levels like in Diablo or Borderlands. Missions have primary and secondary objectives where every class working together is required to proceed. Being a high level character will not make you a one man army against new players. Team work is essential because you cannot do every class role simultaneously. Kind of like in L4D when you can't free yourself from a hunter pin or smoker strangle. The game's built in parkour (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkour) is like an added bonus that isn't central to the point. Not only that, but there are tiers of that ability depending on the character type you pick. You can be fast and agile, or big and strong sacrificing the greater moves for more health and bigger weapons.
