Like hell I am going to play this by myself. There needs to be a co-op mode for a game this scary.

LOL - Co-op mode? That'll still be too scary. How about an MMO mode?

Imagine, a bunch of randoms just hanging around in the water making their avatar dance as the water monster chases the next noob to walk through that door. :)

Yeah i know!
I was thinking of cancelling my pre-order and giving the reason as:
"The demo made me crap my pants"

OP: But then the horror and story all go out the window. You're clearly missing the point.

Co-op Doom 3 style, only one person gets to hold the lantern... Course, there's no weapons so the other guy is just SOL.

Multiplayer would just kill the game. This game is horror game. Without horror, it would suck. Multiplayer removes the horror meaning that the game would suck.

So no. I am happy with singleplayer.

Must every game have multiplayer these days?

I have a suggestion. Nothing kills horror of the unknown more than knowledge. So my advice is: when you hear what might be a monster, instead of crapping your pants, lift your lantern and run straight at the thing as if you had a shotgun. Shove that light in its face and take a good look at it. Even if it kills you. When you feel you looked at it enough, reload a saved game and keep playing.

I guarantee it you wont be so scared of it the next time.

You know, as strange as it sounds, it really does work. I did it in penumbra with the white zombie things, and after I plucked up the courage to do it for real, I actually ended up LAUGHING at it!

Maybe about being scared but he likes MP games and isn't the first to mention this games lack of it.

Well every games seems to require multiplayer, anything known as competition at least (Clutch (http://store.steampowered.com/app/35310/) have failed that class). As for storylined games, some do require total solitude to work while some other 'solitude' just end in lack of replayability (The Elder Scrolls III, IV and Fallout 3). Of course, multiplayer has it's flaw which is mostly called MMO (No one asked me if I wanted to play with wannabe-leaders crying at every little step and swear like there's no tomorrow and instant spammers).

While Amnesia is a 1 player, it probably wouldn't lose for a 2 player COOP if puzzles are made accordingly. Now since Frictional Games has alot of financial troubles, I'd say we should be happy it's out before asking for someone to hold our hand (That game doesn't scare me, but do agree that main character is a scared little sissy girl).
