Assembling the orb

Okay so I have all the 6 pieces and tar, but where can I fix the Orb? When I try to use tar with one of the orb pieces, it says something about needing a more appropiate place to do that.

Have you even found the room with lightning that blocks the path? Anyway there is a round altar that you assemble it on.
