Frequency not found... AAAAAAAARRRGH!

I managed to get BloodBowl activated without too much hassle. But then when the game launches the screen goes black and a white box with the tremble inducing words: "Frequency not found" appear in the center. this box then begins to move around the screen like an intimidating devil machine.
After about 10 seconds one of the randomly selected game intros launches along with the game logo etc.
Then the intimidating devil machine returns and music is played in the background with crowds cheering every now and then as though it was me against this terrifying creature that hovers around my screen.
I payed about 4 quid to stare at a box with text. Any solutions would be very happily taken on as I really was looking forward to this game

*it actually says FREQUENCY OUT OF RANGE in the white box.
Restarting does nothing but I can see the intro movies perfectly then the main menu soundtrack plays in the background as the white box dashes around like some maniacal annoying attention seeking baby. HALP MEH!

Find a way to change the in game refresh rate to 60. An alternative that may work is to run in a window or a lower resolution.

The frequency out of range means that the refresh rate frequency is too high for your monitor to support, and to avoid being damaged it is basically turning itself off.

That is a problem when the game tries to set the frequency to something higher than what your monitor can handle [ussually 75hz on a 60hz monitor]

there are programs that LOCK your frequency on all programs to 60 [or any option you choose]

have not tested this one personally though.

if it does not work just look for another one.

make sure you set it at 60 and not higher it will mess up your screen if you don't.

thanx for that link I have just downloaded it and tested it. the program works for some others that i have had problems with but forsome reason when i try and launch blood bowl it only shows the starting screen then stops loading
