View Full Version : New Patch = Very messed up game now!

In the first 10 minutes of play since the patch i have noticed several things happen, none of which happened before:

1) Going from the Town back to the Shop takes 15-20 seconds of loading. Not so much frozen, just stuck on the black "loading" screen with the little disc icon spinning away.
2) Pressing escape to reach the menu is no longer instant and has a delay of 1-2 seconds.
3) News repeats itself every time period. 4 times now i have been told "Accessories have increased and Long-swords decreased".
4) When the news does change, it often tells me things which i never recalled. For example, it said the "hat boom ended" when i never heard of it starting to begin with. Either events happen and the news never tells me or it's lying.
5) Base prices for the bottom dialogue box differ from the base prices in the blue box when you press "C" to view extra details. This goes for everything in the store, no matter the item.
6) Linked with the previous point, the base prices change back to normal after a few seconds. At first i thought i was seeing things, but nope: Every time i head to town and come back, it changes the figures and then resets them a few seconds later.
7) Everyone that came into my shop sold stuff to me. Nothing was sold at all to them. Not sure if this a bug or what exactly but never before have i had an entire shop full of people SELLING things to me; nobody bought a single item, cheap or expensive.

Strange, I havenīt noticed any problem with the patch. My load time increased when I changed from Window mode to fullscreen.
But that was even before the patch.

Strange, I have played a bit with the updated version and no issues or weirdness at all (except the mobs at Obsidian Tower being a hell of a LOT stronger @_@)

Hmm, we'll keep our ears to the ground but so far we've not seen any patch oddness. Now, the Obsidian Tower and beyond monsters being harder, that's intended. >:-)

Love that the patch made the enemies stronger :) Now I just need to unlock 5th and 6th dungeon to meet some enemies worthy of my sword :)

I have not found any patch-related problems. However, I still have a pre-patch problem that the patch has not fixed.

Occasionally (about 10% of the time), when I start up the game, the controls do not respond. I have to exit the game by pressing the x button in the top right corner and restart the game to get it to work. If it matters, I'm using Windows Vista.

I'm loving the stronger enemies. I remember how most enemies (everyone besides the slimes and ropers) used to only do about 2 damage per hit to my underleveled (but well-equipped) adventurers.

If it matters, I'm using Windows Vista.Alt-tabbing out and back in fixes that for me (windowed mode).

That happens to me on Windows 7 too sometimes. The keyobard doesn't do anything, haven't experienced it with the gamepad yet, but I don't use it much :P

I'm at the 5th dungeon now, and the enemies are all doing 1 damage again... even when enemies have double attack power. I only made it to floor 15, though, so they may get stronger later on.

I'm taking 1 damage from most of the 4th dungeon monsters as well. I was hoping they'd be stronger on the 5th dungeon. Maybe I should bring someone a little weaker than Tielle?

Well... The bosses still hit for about 30 damage, so they are a mild challenge.

I'm not sure if it's me doing something wrong, but healing rings and meditation rings don't seem to do anything. I equipped one and there was no regeneration of health/SP. Maybe there's some kind of hidden condition that I don't know about.

Edit: It looks like it's healing me when I take damage. I'm not sure I can think of a worse way for something like this to be implemented. And the notification of a ring break pops up over Recette's head, which doesn't really help me when I'm fighting a boss and can't see it.

The cutscene after beating the gauntlet of bombs on floor 30 of the fifth dungeon clears the room of treasure. This is kind of annoying, because they die cuickly due to chain-reaction explosions and they drop alot of items.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, the enemies may just be so weak because my Tielle is level 59, while the enemies are all around level 31. I was expecting higher level enemies in the 5th dungeon...

Just wait until the sixth dungeon. Your max level adventurers armed to the teeth and wearing the best plate you own will STILL get blown away. Crystal Nightmare has a very fitting name.
