Specs for my specific machine:
Asus G60vx Laptop
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 (2.53GHz)
Memory: 4GB DDR3
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M with 1GB memory
HDD: 2 x 320GB 7,200rpm Seagate Momentus
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Hopefully this will help you replicate/fix the issue of not being able to play in full-screen on certain machines.
If anyone else can't play in fullscreen aswell, please post your specs here to find some sort of correlation between the crashing.
Excuse the music, the original video had me talking to a friend on google voice and me not realizing it was also getting recorded >_>
Edit:
Pastebin of dxdiag: http://pastebin.com/TvJPtuke
Pastebin of event viewer error: http://pastebin.com/GpshZ2dj

Sadly the video does not show much other then that there is a problem.
Please do the following:
-Click start
-In the "Search programs and folders" box at the bottom of the Start Menu type "dxdiag" (no quotes) and press Enter
-Click "Save All Information" (one of the buttons at the bottom of the screen)
-Save the file it asks to create to your desktop.
-Upload the contents of that file to http://www.pastebin.com and post the link.
And also,
-click start
-type "eventvwr.msc /s" (no quotes) into the "Search programs and files" box at the bottom of your start menu
-In the window that opens, on the left pane, click "Windows Logs"
-Click "Application" directly below windows logs
-Open Recettear and get it to crash
-Right click in the upper middle pane back in the Event Viewer, and press "Refresh"
-You should see either a red "X" or a yellow "!" somewhere near the top.
-Double click that event, press "copy" on the lower right of the window that opens, and paste that information here.

See now, this is helpful! Thank you!
Can't promise when we might have a fix ready, though.

I understand, just wanting to help you guys out! This game is addictive yo, tell the devs to port this to iphones! The app store is severely lacking in good RPGs on that platform >_>

NO!
That said, can I get you to update your video drivers? I HIGHLY doubt that is the problem but for troubleshooting it would be good if we had the same driver set. 158.96 (8.17.12.5896) is the latest.
And please reconfirm the issue after doing so.

Gulanzon: I did get the same crash when I tried 1280x928.
I think its because my laptop only can handle 1280x800.
I tried 1024x728 in fullscreeen and it plays perfectly.
edit: Forgot the specs :P

Also getting the fullscreen crash at highest resolution. Here's the information.
System stuff: http://pastebin.com/uADqw0mi
Crash information: http://pastebin.com/Yfhb0Sdq
I don't know if it'll help you guys figure this out or whatever, but there it all is. For now I'll just play it at a lower resolution.

Closed video as soon as I heard That Godawful Song that everyone puts into their youtube video even if it's about kittens dancing on rainbows for some reason.
To be honest, I hate that so much that I hope the devs do, too.

I had assumed that you would not be attempting to set the game resolution to something higher than your monitor/graphics card can support... Obviously this will not work, although admittedly to downscale or lock the higher resolutions would have been a more elegant solution.
Either way, there is nothing to be gained by you running the game in a higher resolution then your hardware can handle, so simply run it at something that can be handled.
Unless there is anyone having this problem when their hardware should be able to handle the resolutions being used I don't see that there is a problem...
Why to assume that settings you know your hardware is incapable of will work? Is it not common sense?

My native resolution is set at 1366x768 so the resolution isn't the problem for meh.
Setting it at 1024x728 makes it work fine in fullscreen though. Seems that the 1280 resolution wasn't properly supported.

You... don't math well?
Your native: 1366x768
Set Resolution: 1280x960
vertical 1366 > 1280 - OK
horizontal 768 < 960 - EXCEEDED YOUR MAXIMUM RESOLUTION
Do you see?
When you move down to 1024x768, then everything fits.

How about this, this is the first game where I've experienced a crash for having a different...horizontal angle? I just think that there should be a broader range of resolutions in the config tool.

Angle?...
Your monitor has a certain number of horizontal pixels:
<----------------------------------------------------------------->
(that way). In your case 788 of them.
When you set the resolution to 1280x960, you are asking it to render 960 pixels that direction, when you only have 768. It's like me asking you to build a 10 meter fence on 8 meters of property. There is going to be a problem.
As far as supporting more resolutions go, Recettear will not benefit from displaying in any resolution above 1280x960, so the only other viable option would be to add widescreen support.
Personally I refuse to buy a monitor that is not 16:10, but that is my preference. I would not see the harm in adding widescreen support to Recettear, but it would require A LOT of work from the developers to do so.
