Is there a way to run the game at higher resolution, specifically 1080p?

Because the sprites are going to look so much at 1080? (This is not video, there is no I or P - at least not in any relevant way.)

It will make no difference at all - just use fullscreen for the larger image if that is what you wish. Graphic quality will not improve with higher resolution.

That's not actually true, though, unless you're using a CRT.

Granted, you're right in saying that the sprites won't scale as well, but running a game in full-screen mode on a non-native resolution generally.. looks terrible. Much worse than any poorly-scaled sprites would.

Personally, I'd just as soon settle for windowed mode.

You possibly have some... interesting scaling filters?

Or maybe you just have better eyes then me, but I certainly cannot tell the difference on this particular program.

Chances are his experiences are with a widescreen monitor and his computer stretches it instead of throwing on black bars like it should.

Yes - so a poor filtering solution. If that is the case those settings can certainly be adjusted through the monitor or video drivers.

The nvidia scaling for 4:3 is severely broken for a lot of people - either resorting to hacks or older drivers to fix them. I just play this game in windowed mode now. :/
