i read this thread http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/forum/view/7371/17181/Ask_Capcom
on capcom forum you see after capcom announced that dlcs will be exculsive to 360 all ps3 fans said that they will cancel they preorder or that they will not buy at all because of this some pc fans said the same too. Do you think that exculsive DLC can hurt pc version sales ? the game must be succes on pc for capcom to contunie support it.

Na. The prologue made for the 360 is more like a demo and thus fulfilling what the developers had planned for it. Theres not much story behind it, nor is there much to show off other than all the combination weapon builds. PC also has the advantage of achieveing better graphics and frame rate, and from what i saw on the 360, the frame rate was questionable.
My view, its just another multi-format game. This is a great game btw :), buy it for PC!.

Exclusive DLC to a soon to be popular game. Its only a matter of time till it is released onto PC. Nevertheless, dlc generally sucks ♥♥♥.

yes i hate DLCS they are ruining gaming!!
@ Hankhendrix All games has a lot better graphcis and frames on pc than consoles evryone knows that and that why i prefer gaming on pc and i use 360 ony for games that are not coming to pc. I dint play Case zero because i dont have xbox live. Framer rate was slow on 360?? I am happy to hear that .

It will also hurt ps3 sales just read the link i posted and see how many ps3 fans canceld or said that they will cancel ps3 versions preoder because of dlc. But less ps3 sales is good for pc pc version because it will have less compettition!

You do realize that the "Cancels preorder" stuff is a small meme in the console community. People actually will go on full rants about something that looks serious, then you look at it again and realize how stupid it sounds. "Two small arcade games are Xbox exclusive! *Cancels preorder*"

I personally don't care. The only DLCs I bought in my life were Borderland's, like 6 months after their release, when they were at -66%.
I'm never really excited about all the DLCs. Sure, it's fun to have new content, but it's always so limited...
I never felt like buying Oblivion's and Fallout 3's expansions/DlCs, even if there was a ton of them, and interesting ones. ( Yeah, some Fallout 3's DLCs are a joke, I know. )
As long as I can enjoy my game forever, I don't need to care about sales. It's not like a MMO who's going to close if the sales are bad.
Tabula Rasa... Never played it, but that's an exemple of a dead game, even if it had potential. All Points Bulletin had ambition, but died quickly too.

I got Case Zero on the 360 but was still planning to get the game on the PC. Start the game at level 5 or get £10 off and higher res graphics with a better framerate and faster loading? Case West and/or draconian DRM may change my mind though.

I would think most PC gamers are accustomed to seeing the consoles get exclusives by now, so no this particular instance isn't going to change much.
On top of that, if a pc gamer appreciates the advantages of gaming on a pc, small things like dlc are irrelevant. Especially since most dlc are made up of useless little trinkets. Every now and then you have some dlc that actually adds something to the story, but it's rare.

So you think that 360 exculsive DLC will not hurt pc sales so much?

Not to encourage piracy here, but the big shot companies still wonder why piracy is so popular on the pc, they should take a good look in the mirror, if you don't give people a incentive to buy a game, what do you expect then. It's the same story when ''ghostbusters'' got released for the pc ''oh we're expecting the game to be pirated on the pc anyway so lets not even include the multiplayer for the pc version''.
I'm still buying DR2 for the pc, but if we are left with just the basics where as the xbox 360 gets all the DLC and extras (you can say most DLC sucks anyway, but you can't really say case west will be just some small new clothing DLC, it continues the story of DR2 and will be worth playing) i will definitely be more wary of buying a CAPCOM game for the pc next time.

I just tooky my decision i will not buy any capcom games anyway (no matter if they are on pc or console) unlees they release REG SSF4 and DR DLC on pc too. A friend of mine who is a console gamer mostly decided to not any buy any more capcom gamees unlees they release RE5G on pc! So capcom already lost 2 customers on both pc and consoles! And they will lose even more!!

had a conversation about this with a friend of mine yesterday. As we know Japan is the home of Nintendo and Sony, which means the home of console gaming. So,the videogaming at consoles like Playstation,SNES,NES,GC,WII etc are more spreaded there. That's why Japanese companies are releasing more hardly or-in our case not at al-games at PC.Unlike with Xbox 360 and PC which has base on America and Europe, all European companies releasing all their games everywhere not only to consoles. European/American developers like THQ Activision Ubisoft 2k 1C EA e.t.c. release 99% of their games on pc (except fighting games) while japan developers like Namco Temco koei e.t.c dosent release anything on pc and capcom and konami hardly release something on pc.Irrelevant? I don't think so!

Yes, it will hurt the sales, because people get to know that CAPCOM won't support this game on other platforms besides the 360.
IN other words, I won't buy a game, from which I know that the devs won't support it in the near futre.
CAPCOM is really going too far right now. Sucking too much of M$ ♥♥♥♥.

No, i will not hook up an xbox, purchase an online subscription, purchase a game, then purchase content for it
when i can just purchase the game and be fine
i don't think it will hurt pc sales at all, if you're going to buy it on pc, then you're going to buy it on pc, nothing can really change your mind about that, or atleast not mine

Well like you said it wont change your mind, it's your opinion, but a lot of people (including me ;) ) would at least like to have the choice to buy extra content for a game that we like, not just be left to hang out to dry (<<<am i saying that right? :P) and be treated like ♥♥♥♥ compared to customers for a other platform.

Lol.
Since SF4, RE5 and LP had poor sales on pc versions, don't expect anything more. DR2 and LP2 are probably the last games Capcom is gonna port.

You'll be surprise if people would do more than 'Canceling preorders' like download the pirated version and the dlcs if they have JTAG enabled 360. That would hurt the sales even more plus direct insult to the publisher/creator.

If Case Zero doesn't hurt PC sales, Case West will...
This, and while I hate all forms of DLCs, the type that wont get cut off from the main game just to be repackaged later as DLCs *cough* 2K games *cough* should be fine, I guess.
In the case of DR2, I really wish to play the entire package on PC (or PS3) rather than Xbox360 since i dont have one, so hopefully they will release the DLC packs later on.

We get the game for 20$ cheaper so I'm fine with no DLC. If they made this game 60$ for the PC with no DLC then i would be piss.

Case Zero - NO
Case West - Maybe... But only if it becomes clear from the ending of DR2 that Case West was simply cut from the full version to sell back to us saps as DLC.
I really don't care about exclusive DLC content as most of it is a waste of $$$ anyways. Extra skins ooooo wow big ♥♥♥♥ing deal!! Extra levels that aren't really tied directly into the main story whatever!! Plus who knows the DLC may be released for PC down the road sometime anyways.
But any type of cut main game content and on disk DLC is where I draw the line. I think the major beef people are having with DR2's DLC is the fact that they are starting to feel cheated out of their purchase. Deny me an extra gun, multiplayer map, skin or bonus level and I could care less.... But start ♥♥♥♥ing with storyline content and make me feel like I'm missing out in that way, then we got problems.
By treating consumers like garbage with these nickel and dime DLC tactics what's the motivation for them to actually buy your product when pirating is so easy???

Point is, i don't know how it is in the US, but here (netherlands) pc games are already usually 20 euros cheaper then console games, so i would like to at least get the choice to buy DLC (or if DLC is to much of a effort just give us the stuff free through a patch like the good old days ;) )
