game doesn't start

Hello,
Yesterday me and a friend tried at his place the demo of Puzzle Dimension, and totally fell in love with it. First thing in the morning I purchased the game on steam and downloaded it. however when it comes to launch the game nothing happens. no errors, nothing.
i'm using Windows 7 . tried the game using XP on my laptop and it works fine. Might that be the problem? (when we tried the demo my friend was using Vista)
