Keyboard is not working for me in this game. Both keyboard + mouse and keyboard only options do nothing, I can only use my mouse to play it. Anyone else with this problem?

yeah, get a xbox 360 gamepad :) Works great for this and you don't even have to change the control mappings. But yeah they should have added in support for keyboard and mouse.

It supports Keyboard and Mouse, even the Demo does.

You can decide between:
-Gamepad
-Mouse & Keyboard
-Keyboard only
-and another Mouse-centered option

And yes, Mouse+Keyboard 1 works just fine other here.

Verifying local files gives one error and one file redownloading - every time... Something's wrong. The keys don't work at all in the game, not even in menus. The only thing that works is CTRL+SHIFT for Steam overlay.

Redownloading...

Ok, no joy. The keyboard is still dead after redownloading of the game. Win7, 64bits, not sure if that's related. Local cache verified and no errors. Does anyone have similar problem?

Ok, so if it's not system related, than maybe it's something to do with keyboard drivers. I have Alienware M15x laptop, and I've also read about problems with Logitech G15 keyboard that someone had.

F^cking console ports :(

Could it be that the problem is a playing on a laptop? Mine is a Sager NP9850.

I'm using my laptop...It's an ASUS G60vx. My laptop's keyboard is apparently a Microsoft eHome MCIR 109 Keyboard..

No worky here.

Win7 64-bit, running a G15 Just updated Logitech G drivers still no work....

However there is a big irony here....

It shows my HEALTH and STAMINA on the G15 screen.... So the designers of this game made a G15 app so the game could do funky stuff with it but didn't bother to see if they could oh. I donno actually grab a keyboard.

Thortok2000
09-22-2010, 08:50 PM
Do those fancy features of G15 keyboards provide any actual use? I'm usually too busy watching the monitor to care about what my keyboard wants to tell me. But I've never actually tried one.

Anyway, just wanted to chime in, Win7 64 bit, no problems on demo at all. Didn't know there was a keyboard only option, that sounds better for this kind of game than keyboard plus mouse.

Same problem, Windows 7 64 bit as well.

perhaps go into options->config->key bindings

and check all your key bindings work there.

The game was build for g15 to work as well as 64bit Win 7.

Tell us how you go.

Ah yes! I know this issue the problem is on a laptop your keyboard is like your 5th input device for keyboards. So it tends to fail to find it. (the game has max of 4)

For those I would go to input devices and remove one of the ones you don't use and see if that fixes it.

Yesterday I solved the issue with the G15 keyboard, uninstall the drivers for it all together. After that I also detached the keyboard and reattached it, system powercycle should be fine too.

I also had a non responsive mouse, fixed after removing my wacom tablet (the game apparently gives priority to one and disables the other).

A friend of mine had a laptop key issue as well, he worked around it by attaching a basic keyboard.

I hope some of this helps to solve all your issues... Though they are just workarounds, they might lead to a more permanent solution.

Unfortunately, same problem here: I have Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate and a Logitech G15 keyboard. The game crashed at first with resolution and setting it to fullscreen but eventually I managed to get it properly on 1920x1080 fullscreen only to find out that the keyboard simply does not work.
I turned even the heads up display on the keyboard off (I use it for ventrilo not the game) and it didn't respond at all. I would wait till developers and steam tech support come up with a decent patch soon.
Love to play it but never could so far. :(

Thanks. The only thing that wasn't completely working were my mouse L/R buttons. I always manage to forget about my Wacom tablet despite it being right in front of me all day long. Regardless though, I shouldn't have to unplug one of my devices to make another work in game.

Both my Logitech G19 keyboard and G13 gamepad worked fine, but were useless to me without the mouse. There was a brief issue where all the default keyboard controls disappeared from the game settings, but I just restarted the game to get them back.

Too bad I've already played the game a third of the way through using my Playstation 2 controller. I have to admit though, Blade Kitten being a side scroller and all, really feels natural to control using a console style pad.

and just an FYI for the record:
Windows Vista 64bit
Logitech G19 Keyboard
Logitech G13 gamepad
Logitech G9x mouse
Playstation 2 Dualshock2 (via USB adapter)
Wacom Bamboo pen/touch

Unfortunately the game isn't functioning for me on either my laptop (Acer Aspire) and desktop with a G15 Logitech keyboard. Will try the "fix" with unplugging the keyboard but this would be rather fixed by a patch?

I also found the game not using my keyboard AT ALL. But I have an XBox 360 gamepad around, this game is very gamepad-able. At least, those things are almost cheap (was 30€ here and it's good for more than this game).

Interesting keyboard anomaly here.. I can do a jump while sprinting to the left, but for some reason jump does nothing while sprinting to the right. Same when on the Noot too. Jump while normal running in either direction works, though.

I'm sure I was able sprint jump to the right just fine before switching keyboards, I was using a generic keyboard before but now using a Logitech G15 (but NOT using its software). Of course, no problems in anything else.

The G15 has a very good button detection system, so it should detect 5+ keys pressed at once, this is very strange. I have an old g15 at home and a new g15/g19 at work they all work fine, (I do have the software installed though)

It's just weird why jump doesn't work only when sprinting to the right. I'll try changing keys to see if fixes it, currently I use the arrow keys to move, enter for sprint, and right-shift for jump.

Update: Well, I changed the sprint key to S, and now I can jump left and right while sprinting fine.

However, I discovered another weird anomaly when I set left-control to slide, in addition to right-control I have been using. When I move and sprint with S, using left-control I can only slide to the right, and not the left! But it's OK with right-control. I dunno, maybe the G15 does need the software to work 100% correctly in some things.

Update Again: I installed the G15 software, made no difference, so I just don't get why it won't jump (right-shift) while sprinting (enter) to the right (right-arrow), but works to the left (left-arrow). Makes no sense.

Anyway, I'm working around it now, using keyboard only mode so I can reach a sprint key easier. Oh and I notice on the G15 lcd display, when you are on the Noot, the stamina never goes down (while it does on the screen of course).

Bought this game on release date. Still haven't been able to play it. This is a bit ridiculous for something that can so easily be fixed. I can start the game fine, along with getting to the beginning of the first level, but after that, I cant move, nor can I press esc to get out of it and close the game. I end up having to close the game through task manager.

ok, So I had to get a controller from the dustbin, so I could actually do something.
Since my keyboard simply doesn`t respond (except for the stupid g15 fancy smancy game logo).

So I went to the control settings, put it on keyboard and mouse.
Changed some other settings.
started up the game. Nothing worked.
Exit the game.
Booted up the game again.

:D and guess what?
Keyboard and mouse still not working. :(
It simply doesn`t matter, this game totally ignores all keyboard input. and mouse clicks. The game does however seem to remember every config screen setting. So it`s not that. :/

:/ isn`t it supposed to be the other way around... keyboard being mandatory and controller being secondary?
Because the controller seems to work no matter what. :/ ah well, accoarding to the game`s forums, they`re busy with a fix.

I downloaded this game demo because it looked like fun. Keyboard didn't work, so I came here. Now, over a month later, this issue isn't resolved? From chris_fowler_'s comments, it's just a matter of approval? It's very disappointing that any approval process for a simple fix could take so long. So, I'll uninstall it and maybe I'll give it a chance in a few more months if it comes to mind.

Apart from having to play this great game via gamepad, due to keyboard not responding ingame (except for Alt-F4, conveniently), i also have a problem with the fullscreen option.

If i play in fullscreen mode i get stuck with 600x480 resolution. I tried to switch to window mode and i get the resolution working just fine.

The weird part is when im in fullscreen, my "Fullscreen resolution" option is showing as "1073741824x1069547520", and in window mode is showing as "1065353216x1065353216"... In either way, if i try to change that option, it only gives me a blank page, with no options to select from at all.

And playing with this options seems to have deleted my save... (Good, i can play this again. Bad, i still have to use a gamepad...)

Ps: Im not a gamepad hater, in any way, i love playing on my console too, put each hardware in its place, gamepads in consoles, keyboard and mouse in pc. lol

It's really disappointing, the total lack of support for this game.

If Krome survives, I'm not buying anything from them again. If they don't survive - good riddance. Serves them well for releasing a broken product and not fixing it.

I could only get it to run using a 360 controller. The only thing that worked using the keybord option was throwing the sword and bringing it back. She never moved at all. Further more there was no way to get out of the game without killing the process in the task manager. Pity as I like platformers and thought this one cute. Who doesn't like a women with a tail?:D I'll have to pass on this one. Just too many problems for me.

I hate when companies pump out shoddy ports just to make a few bucks.

I'm getting pretty tired of people playing the "shoddy port" card at the drop of a hat. This is a good game and it deserves more respect. For people where the keyboard is not working, I have sympathy, but I'm sure there will be a way to fix it if you persevere and try to pool your knowledge to see what your common feature is.

For me, on my usb G11 keyboard with no special drivers, it works fine.
