Not getting achievements

I beat Tiamat, but I did not get the achievement. I think I am missing some others I earned, also.

So even when u press Shift+tab it dont show the most Recent Achievements?


mine was actin up like that kinda if i press shift + tab it shows i got them but under my Achievements it was locked tell i closed game completely and reopend it.

Steam Community has been on and off all day today. Regardless, if you achieve it in-game it will pop up eventually.

When you first start the game, as in get into the world, you might get a message saying something like the connection to steam has been lost and that you won't be able to get achievements. I'm guessing that's what happened, but I'm not completely sure.

Restarting the game worked for me.

Same than OP but for the one with all wrath cores, for the tremor gauntlet the angels kill competition with ulthane, the complete level of all weapons and moves and other I might have forgoten.
Restarting does nothing there was no steam community issue at those moments.

Just got the achievement for the wrath shards on an other playthrough. Still missed the helicopter, environement kills, gauntlet etc etc even if I did it.
I think the way it's broken is kind of random.

Also, although I unlocked the abyssal armor on my first playthrough (on easy) I don't have the option to use it from the start on a new game. I am very close to finish my second play now (on normal). I hope it will work now.

EDIT : ok, finished it again with the abyssal armor and STILL no option to start with it on a new game. Did internet trolled me or is it another broken feature?

This game simply is terrible at properly registering achievements, there's really nothing more to it. Open Air Parking only unlocked on the third attempt for me, and when I finished my first playthrough I was missing four of the "guaranteed" achievements (i.e. those you get as part of the story and literally cannot avoid unlocking). Browse this forum for a few minutes and you'll find numerous threads posted by people having the exact same problem with regards to achievements (and the Abyssal Armour issue below).

Darksiders is a great game, but Vigil's lack of support for it is quite disappointing.

Well im usually not a that keen on archievements, but if they exist i want to get them if ive done the necessary thing, just played the game through (and the game itself is really awesome) and noticed a lot of archievements are missing: a tough cookie, rocked your face of, one mean mother, whos counting (i definitly know i beat ulthane in the angel slay competition),
into the void, tremor bringer, an old friend, Reaper, aerial predator (not sure about that one, but i beat alot from the horse), reunited.
So a lot of must get archievements i didnt get, the other too is still annoying.

I find that if you shift tab or alt tab at any point while playing it kills the ability to get achievements, on mine the overlay is crashing after doing these but not telling me it has. This only happens to me on Darksiders though so not sure what its doing to the overlay.

Got all the story unlocks bar one, the one for the portal gun :(

yes, the UI crashes for me also from time to time and only in Darksiders! But today i finished the game (defeated destroyer/abaddon) without even opening team UI and i don't have achievements "The Final Challenger" and "Balance Restored" :(

I just finished the game on Armageddon , I try to check every achievement that I can be gain in session. finally still have Reunited(get a horse)remain ,
Problaybly it's not register at moment I got it. damm!

My overlay doesn't crash, so I can shift-tab and confirm connection. If you aren't connect when the respective achievement event occurs, Steamworks will not register the achievement later. You must be connected when the achievement happens you'll see the badge popup message. If you don't see the message, immediately load the autosave (if you're fast enuff) and try again. Otherwise save frequently and load those saves.

As for the armor starting option, next to nobody gets the option on PC. Best guess around the web is some "flag" is set when you get the final piece, and then never lose connection until you beat the game and start a new one. Terribly difficult to pull off since you don't know when Steamworks or your IP will take a crap.

Bumping this thread. Now that the 2nd is officially announced. I hope we also will get the long awaited patch for this one. The release of the second will certainly bring some new sells for this one after all.

hmm that's a bit naive (i hope i'm wrong). I don't think they want to fix the first game. Don't you think they would rather make more money with making the next game, which they will sell for 50€/$, instead of patching the old one?

You don't have to finish your current play-through to start a new game with the Abyssal armor. Check my post in the following thread for details:

Saw this in another thread: If you quit steam, restart it, then run Darksiders each time you play, you should get achievements. It worked for me. Been playing it through a second time to get the achievements I should have gotten the first through.

Achievements is not work correctly. I'm complitly finish tis game but... I have no gaine about 10 achievements and most of them are necessary.

Well it gives you a bit of idea how the developer will support their new game, doesn't it? If they didn't want to fix their last game, will they support their new game, few weeks/months after release? I guess no cause it doesn't directly make them earn more money. It's not like Blizzard/Valve, who support their games for years.

I got achievements just fine until yesterday. I finished the game and didn't get any of the related achievements.

I do hope they support the sequel better because I really enjoyed this game.

bumping this thread.. the devs need to fix this or Steam should remove Achievements from this game. it's really sad Steam sells games that devs don't bother fixing.

i am missing about 8 achievements. :o

guess this is something we can expect for Darksiders 2.. release a game then abandon it.

Had one achievement missing ages ago, no other achievement went missing afterwards. Even the hidden/secret ones got registered.

The game works, there are some workarounds for the achievement problems from back then as well. The game itself is not broken, cry more.

congrats to you. the game DOES have several issues.. read back on this entire forum if you're blind.
