Terrible Release

this release is an absolute joke, one of the worst I can think of in the recent past. Is it the 24th? the 28th? now sites are reporting 1st Oct. Capcom hasn't said anything apart from 24th in Europe which isn't true since GFWL wont let you play. Not to mention the fact us Europeans have a 24th release date and steam won't unlock it for us, though they never have a problem unlocking American releases on time and making us wait!

what an amateur ♥♥♥♥ing show they are putting on.

oh and coupled with the fact that on the 360, if one person saves in a coop game you both get disconnected. Are you ♥♥♥♥ing serious? that simple gamebreaker didnt come up in testing? someone saving? are you serious Capcom?

the worst news is the game has performance issues on consoles. framerate slow downs are common. this does not look good for the pc version if they cant even optimise the game properly for a uniform platform like the consoles how are they gonna do it for the pc with its different combinations of components OS's GPU's etc.

it has been a bad release especially when capcom have said the pal regions will get it first and neglected to mention that the pc version wouldnt even be playable until data XYZ to suit GFWL. im hoping that things turn out for the better and that the port is fine but right now im keeping my expectations low so ill either be pleasantly suprised or just left pretty much thinking "meh"

EDIT - I can't find any official statements from Capcom for the 24th Sep or the 1st October. The only official one i can find from them is the 28th

Digital PC launch will be September 28th for release in North America and Europe. DR2 PC will also be at retail in both territories on the 28th (limited supply in North America so if you see it, grab it).

Yes, i heard there are problems with the console version of this game, i was thinking on getting the PS3 version but most of my friends decided to pre-order it for PC, so i didn't have any other choice.

Fair enough thanks for the link. But to be honest i thought the op was talking about the release on steam, which has never changed. And it's what i have always gone by as i pre-ordered on steam.

But i guess now there will loads on complaints in this forum from retail buyers who want their game now ie this one. Not like it's anything to do with steam but there you go...

As annoying as it is,they don't care because regardless of how many people complain the developer will still get paid. Take l4d2 for example, remember all the protesting to that game? Made no difference

Framerate slowdowns are common for the consoles and older PC's.

Nope, capcom makes their ports itself and while there is much nothing else to tell, anyone remember DMC4 on PC? It had WAY better framerate even on older PC, AND also had Turbo and legendary knight modes that were not on consoles since those drew way more enemies than any console would have handled.

CAPCOM makes their PC version right, they don't even deserve to be called "ports" since they are own definitive versions of game (and actually how older games worked, they were first PC code ported to consoles, that was how MT framework worked)

i can sadly say that console slowdowns happen :(

ive got this game on the PS3 for a few days now, when i started the game, as soon as there where loads of zombies on screen, it started going matrix style, not gamebreaking but it still is kinda annoying

as for DLC, Xbox 360 is the only console that is getting expansions (case zero AND case west, both 360 exclusive)

But he does get it. The game has been released, officially, in Europe. The GFWL thing is simply a mistake, not an attempt to stop stores from selling the game early.

Actually, IIRC the porting is being done by Blue Castle Studios this time around. CAPCOM however, did recently buy them out so their next game should have the same standards as other CAPCOM games.

This one, we might have to wait and see. However, from what I've seen in livestreams we have nothing to worry about.

i think the stellar RE5, Street Fighter 4 and DMC4 ports are probably more relevant in this day and age.

This guy is right. It's unbelievable how the people in these forums are willing to defend a game so much to the point where they defend horrible DRM.

Edit: Ubisoft made the horrible RE4 port. Capcom made the Lost Planet, DMC4 and SF4 ports after that. The last 3 games use their MT Framework engine (SP). They develop the games for the PC first then downscale for consoles. The ports themselves were excellent.

paying customers cant play theire games cause there is an wtf release ,funny programms wont accept theire original dvd or the highsecurity wtf noway pirate´s servers are down ( assassins creed)
and the pirates? they are just laughing about this situation and play the games while the paying customer cant.

If they didn't care for their customers, Dead Rising 2 would be consoles only. I'm guessing they're releasing this on PC to see if they can profit enough to justify porting over the first one to PC aswell.

As a PC gamer customer, you should accept this because you know full well the state of the PC gaming industry. Games get leaked onto Usenet and warez sites all the time, should the company just crumble and push the release forwards due to this? Personally, I see this "omg pirates can play but not us" period as a sort of advertisement. Sure they can play, but they can't save, can't co-op, can't gain achievements. Thus they have an inferior version of the game.

Personally, I pirated and after dicking around for a few hours, re-ordered my pre-order. Multiplayer is going to be ♥♥♥♥ing awesome and well worth the $40.

I had huge problems with GAME. Preordered the game a year ago for £30, but it's telling me the game releases on 1st october. Even though the site says 24th.

I had to go to Gamestation and just buy it for £40.

The multiplayer TiR can not be played, I know because I'm also a part of the scene, stop acting like it's some super secret high school club. It's a bunch of kids that believe that games should have a larger trial period than what is in demos, sadly piracy isn't what they truly wanted, most users pirate and even if they love the game to bits, they won't show their support and buy a legit copy.

Also I'm willing to bet a steam game that there won't be a MP crack in the next week :)

Any game with a GOOD multiplayer ( Not Bioshock 2 ) has to be bought to enjoy it.

I don't know about you, but I pre-ordered Dead Rising 2 on Steam, and that's because it's worth it.
