Finally got to take this for a spin.
WHAT A TRAGEDY.
No clutch (makes starts a bit ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥)...I'd even settle for a button, but no.
No Force Feedback that I can detect on my G25.
Unbelievable control delay......F1 teams spend tens of millions to make cars shift gear in 15ms.....I can drive with on hand on the wheel, raise the other hand to the wheel, pull a shifter paddle....and have the hand back on my leg before the car reacts.....same with the wheel, I can wiggle it to full lock and have it back in the middle before the onscreen wheel moves at all.
Nearly impossible to spin or lock the brakes even with all the moron-aids turned off.....yes F1 cars really are that easy to drive dontyaknow.
Refund time.
Distance Selling Regulations still apply even when the vendor is in jesusland.
This is sold under the simulation section but it bears no resemblance to any racing series I have ever seen.
Remeber when Codies games were good....>ToCA1 CMR1 etc.
What's so annoying is that I lost my job and spent basically my last £30 on this pile of total junk.

Ahhh, Micro Machines on my Mega Drive - those were the days!

I highly doubt anybody would spend their LAST £30, after losing their job, on a computer game. A little silly, wouldn't you say?
On topic: I am noticing no reaction time between me doing something and the car in-game picking it up, perhaps your wheel isn't set up properly, or your computer is causing lag?

Works fine in
Iracing
Rfactor
Netkar
DiRT
LFS
GPL
NR2003
I will try again after a reboot....but will that make the clutch work or the car hard to drive?
And I really did spend my last pennies on this....something to do in the meantime and all....shame it's a play for 5 mins and reclaim the disc space sort of game.

If you think that is bad wait until you hear about the runner band ai and the lack of info about driver distances.

PLEASE don't tell me the AI miraculously go faster if you do.
FFS!
Eight years to come up with a decent game and they give us some console port written for special needs kids to play so that can feel they can drive. (actually with all the moron-mode stuff on.....I am fairly sure you just need to press the gas to complete a lap)

It is up in the air at the moment, there is a bit of code which could resemble rubber band ai but a coder said it means something else. People are experiencing what they think is rubber band ai and some accounts sound suspicious but the person who interpreted the code sounds wrong so I would say it is unlikely atm. It is something being tested by the players.
Also it is now being reported that in the race the AI don't get affected by fuel weight but we do with obvious implications.

I havent played it yet, I will be in about 5 minutes, but I just wanted to comment of the large disparity of opinion concerning the difficulty of this game.
Some, like the OP seem to think its very easy, while others seem to think its very hard. Im sure some have aids and easy AI on, and I have seen youtube vids where people claim to have it set to highest difficulty, and it did look easy, with the driver effortlessly outbreaking 4/5 cars on a corner.
Well my expectations arent as high as some people. I expect gameplay that is similar to the other EGO engine games, as they all do have a similar feel to them. Not too concerned about simulation, I enjoyed Nascar 2k3 and GTR of course, but I dont mind some compromise for the sake of 'fun' in a racing game. GRID is one of my favorites of all time, and this game also seems to divide opinion.
I think perhaps its a case of 'If you like the EGO games, F1 2010 will satisfy you. If not, well I guess people have been misled slightly by the Codies website and their apparent dedication to making a pure sim, but really I think people who like racing games should know roughly what to expect from a codemasters racing title.
Talking of that, its about time they brought out a modern Micro Machines as soon as possible.
Right off to play F1 peace

There is force feedback on the G25. You need to turn it on in the options though.

If rumours were always true we would all be doomed long ago.Your wheel is shifting slow mate and i've not noticed any traffic catch up playing on hard.

Yeah, it's off by default for some reason.
Also the AI does not have rubber band catchup, stop listening to melodramatic idiots on the Codemaster's forum tbh.
FF works on my Momo but I did have to turn it on in options. I have not yet noticed any rubber banding with the AI. I thought I did on my first race, but that was probably just me getting a bit nervous as I was 2 laps away from the win.

Works perfect on my G25, lovely feedback. The only comment i would make is that in sequential gearbox, there is a slight delay when you change up or down, a bit like the early flappy paddle boxes manufacturers priduced about 5/6 years ago.... :-) Clutch would be nice for starts, but otherwise you dont need it....Great fun and very driveable, played with everthing switched off and all okay bot not as hard as Geoff Crammonds GP4.

Got the FF working, had to turn it off then on again, how odd.
Still it's a bit basic.
Some odd performance issues, it seems to be jammed at 45fps, regardless of MSAA settings, DiRT which has better graphics on the same basic game engine is a flat 60 fps the whole time. I suspect it's something to do with windows live, have vague recollections of seeing that posted regarding Grid or Dirt.
Still have input lag, but until I work the FPS out I am willing to say that the one causes the other.
However the basic car handling is hopelessly easy, I completed a lap first time, do you seriously call that a sim....think you could jump in a real F1 car and do that?
I dunno, those of us who played GPL (or still play it) are VERY hard to please.
I will keep it though, like I said it'll keep the kids busy and it'll give me something to do when I'm too drunk to get the iRacing Lotus out of the pitlane.

F1 cars have two paddel-shifter clutches used for the starts- obviously you don't like a racing game unless it's a total simulation and how many gaming wheels have 4 paddel shifters (2 for gears, 2 for clutch)?
Codies have decided to go somewhere betwwen arcade and sim: mistakes are punished, but not severely. This suits me perfectly- I like sim games but don't have the hours to spare just to practise keeping the car on the track.
I sympathise with the input lag you're having, but the only criticism I'll agree with is that it's near impossible to lock the brakes.
If you put your anger to one side ("WHAT A TRAGEDY" etc) and look at it from a business sense- a high-profile, large-budget game should never be made for your crowd: from your own admission you lot are very hard to please.
Using a DFGT wheel, at the highest difficulty with the aids off I'm finding it challenging. If I'm the target audience, Codies got it spot-on.
Other than the fake AI qualifying times. :>
I'm stuck at 45fps too. The good news is that it is perfectly smooth and I don't have any of the frame rate dips/jerkyness that I've read about. It's very playable.

Personally think they got the mix of arcade/sim right. So far I am quite impressed, a lot better than I thought it would be.

You know there's specific settings for the wheel right? That reduce a lot of the latency in controls.

In the game?
Cos it is set to G25, so I assume that's that.
Or are we talking .ini file hacking?
