Switch Sides?

I bought SH4 and the U Boat expansion last night because I already have SH3 and SH5 and don't play those so I figured 'why not complete the unplayed collection...' ;)

I notice that there is a 'switch sides' option in some menu's (quick missions, etc.) but that the German option in all cases is empty, am I missing some content?
