Starting with abyssal armor

So I've read that if you complete the abyssal armor in a playthrough, you get the option to have it from the start if you start a new game. Is this supposed to work on the pc version because i'm not getting the option?

I completed the game on easy difficulty and it didn't unlock the achievement for beating the game. Could this have something to do with it?

although it is alarming your achievement didnt pop up (that could be caused by being disconnected from the steam server, as you need to be connected for achievement progress to be recorded) it most likely would not have worked for you anyway. i think the huge majority of us do not get the abyssal armor anyway.

majority? so that means a small percent of pc players do get it?

yeah. a very small percent have gotten it to work in their games. most of us, however, are SOL.
