View Full Version : Hello people can someone please help me?

Hi everyone, im having trouble launching the game...i downloaded the latest patch and put it the root file area but does not work it still says im running less than 15mb of memory i then tried anthor way whichi read on this forum about changing the memore thing in msconfig but it then says exe error or something like that. Im sure im doing somthing wrong and the directions are indeed very detaile but i am not a technical person and have trouble understaning, what i do know is that my laptop has 4g of memory, 1g vga card ati radeon and thats as far as i go any help will be appreciated thanks guys!:o im new to steam btw so hello to all steam users lol

Which patch are you referring to? The official 1.2 patch (which you don't need, because it's already included with the Steam version)? The Unofficial Patch (and which specific version)? The True Patch Gold (and which specific version)?

Also, if one of the two fan patches (UP or TPG), what specific steps did you take to install?

What do you mean by root file area? Where did you install it to exactly?

Hmm, reading the TS's post, it seems he just pasted the installer into the game folder?

ok i put it in steam apps, vampires folder is that right? the thing is, the download file is it ment to be a zip file because when i got it it was a icon that looked like a blank page and does nothing, i click on it and it comes up with open file with....internet,media player and so on imvery confused i followed the directions as best as i can but no luck,,

well of you call dragging the the "file" to the directoy then yeah i guess i pasted it

ok the steps took are as follows, opened the patchesscroll site, downloaded the unofficial 7.1 patch for vampires all i got was a icon that does nothing looks like a blank peice of paper (the icon that is) ididnt get any installer app

Something is wrong here. The UP is supposed to be an installer executable which will ask you for the directory to install into if you execute it.

yes it seems to always happen to me hahaha i get a game i like, install and download whatever and then it doesnt work....and ive only played this game on a different laptop for 30mins and i really love this game!!! i guess ill keep trying to get that patch Oh will the official patch work? from the same site?

Nope. In fact, the steam version already comes with the 1.2 patch.

Are you using a download accelerator? It sounds like your download is getting corrupted. Assuming you are, try turning the accelerator off.

If you don't know, then you probably aren't using one. It's a program you'd have to install seperately, that would take over the downloads from your web browser (e.g. GetRight, FlashGet, etc). Speaking of, you could try an alternative web browser (as I'm assuming you're using IE). I'd recommend Opera (http://www.opera.com) browser.

ok i tred this but a screen comes up and says cannot find steam....i give up i guess i just wasted my fking money on this bogus game bull♥♥♥♥ i need a smoke thanks guys for your help thank you 4 your time and effort in helping me out.

you have to make sure you start the game from your steam library, it wont work if you try to open it using the vampire.exe file or shortcut.

also if it still doesnt work try running it in compatibility mode for windows xp

same man. this game just dont want to apparently my over all play time is 7 min I still havnt seen th load up screen, thats over a course of a few months.
