I played Kotor a few years ago and just jumped at the occasion to buy it again when it was on sale.
However the game seems not to work on MANY people's PC's because of newer drivers or OS issues.
It's getting ridiculous.

This has been solved elsewhere I'm pretty sure, but you're probably talking about it crashing after the developer splash screens on start up. I solved this by setting compatability to Windows XP service pack 3. To do this you'll need go go into your steam folder, Common files, your swkotor folder, then find the kotor exe in there and set its compatability in properties.
that one executable should be the only one you'll need to set compatability on. Not the updater.

well, i believe its about putting the game on 'run as admin' and a file that you need to overrite with a version that works.
I believe its Mss32.dll
correct me if i am wrong.

Try turning off antialiasing, ansitropic filtering and cut scene movies with the config tool you will find in the swkotor folder (normally C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\swkotor\swconfig.exe) . If it crashes before entering the game, after the splash screen, you HAVE to turn off movies.

Only fix ive found to get this game to work is to use the config file in game directory and turn off movies, after this ive had no problem at all. If i dont disable the movies, the game crash at start.
