I bought the SS Gold pack because I have a netbook and it's not powerful enough to run SS HD. I was so happy to see SS Gold with the Classic versions, especially on sale!

I've been going through SS TFE Classic and I've been getting a fair amount of BSOD's (blue screens of death). I've gotten about 5 and I'm about halfway through the game.

My netbook is an Asus EEE PC 100HE with Windows XP Home SP3.

Any suggestions, ideas?

Update: I traced the blue screens back to my Realtek HD Audio sound hardware, since the blue screen message specified rtkhdaud.sys as the culprit. I did two things and one of the two seems to have corrected the BSoDs:

1) I rolled back my Realtek drivers to version R2.14 and installed a "hacked" version of rtkhdaud.sys. You can find it by googling "rtkhdaud.sys realtek hd audio driver crash". I cannot guarantee this corrected the issue and I am not responsible for any potential damage this modified driver causes to your computer.

2) I changed the Audio option in SS Classic from EAX to DirectSound.

I played for about half an hour without any blue screens. Looks good so far.
