Crash on New Game

Ehh, i posted this on another forum but this ones a little more populated. So I used to play this on my old computer fine and I had the urge to play this game again on my new one. I downloaded my copy from direct2drive and installed it and got the memory error because I have 8G's of ram and Vista 64x. So I saw to install the unofficial patch to fix this, but for some reason everytime I click New Game it crashes, anyone have any ideas?

My specs:
ATI 5770
8G's of DDR3
Windows Vista x64
Q9400 Quad core processor

So far ive tried running in compatibility mode, limiting my ram down to 2G's, and running with desktop resolution at 800x600.

Can you run other Source games? Best one to test (if you own it) is Half-Life Source, since it uses the oldest incarnation of the engine (next to Bloodlines, which uses a modified alpha version of it).

If you used the unofficial patch, you should definitely NOT mess with compatibility options or limit your RAM, as fixes for the RAM and VRAM issues are included in the patch.

Yup, other source games seem to work just fine.
