Empires hl2 mod

is this related in any way to the hl2 mod that is somewhat dead, Empires (http://www.moddb.com/mods/empires)? Seems extremely similar, with commander, squads, and stuff. I'm sure some stuff would be different, but you know.

Also, seeing the overview plot, it's very funny. Communism vs. United States all over again. So biased~~~.

Empires actually had a recent update, so it's by all means not dead.

However, I don't think ND's design is at all influenced by Empires mod, and although in words it may sound comparable, the end result will probably only be similar to Empires in terms of the Source engine.

you really think so? I mean, I'm not angry or anything, just somewhat excited, because I really did like empires, and it'd be great to play game like that again.
and thanks for telling me that it's not dead yet, I was blind when I put the link up I guess... that makes me happy.

They share similar ideas, but they are both FPS/RTS games and other FPS/RTS games share similar ideas too, like Natural Selection 2 for instance.
