They said on their website it would be under $40.00 I could probably swing...... edit: just notice no SP campaign so $4.99. Judging by the activity on this forum this game better be priced lower just to move enough copies.

Hah, $5, thats cute.
The game's pricing is going to have to be VERY well thought out. ND has almost no exposure, and it seems like a highly complicated game that economically can't be pushed out for $20 (if we were to price it at say, Killing Floor's release price). But $40 could seem a little steep for a game with no singleplayer. Is 29.99 the sweet spot? People far more intelligent and with far more information than me will have to decide that one.

Actually my post was a bit absurd on purpose I was trying to see if there was anyone or any group of people passionate about this game.
I think even though economically it doesn't seem to make sense to go $19.99 Steam has proven that because of it's large customer base even a game priced lower and sells more copies still equals good gain. Either way I will wait the appropriate amount of time to get the best deal on this if it comes out for any more than $19.99. I think one of the things to remember here is there are only five maps and though there is a promise to give additional support to this game you are still paying for what is in hand promises can fail.
The other thing that concerns me is that with what seems to be limited interest coupled with online only play means a dead game quickly so by the time any support is added to this game via expansion your community has all but disappeared.
I guess the thing that really has the most potential here is that this game is built on the source engine but that is still contingent on IW allowing mod support.

I think 19.99 is a very fair price indeed, if it has enough maps, etc.

I think 20 might be too low for a game that appears to be quite in depth. I mean, you have a game that is offering 2 genres in one, and its only costing you the average indie price? I'm not too sure they are going to put it up for 20.

I'm willing to pay £30-£40 for this game. Don't really care about the lack of singleplayer.
Battlefield 2 was successful despite having no 'real' singleplayer campaign (just 15 bot playing alongside you), and to me, I'd happily pay £50 to justify the number of hours of entertainment it's provided to me (and still is).

Yes, but Battlefield 2 had a major franchise backing it. You have to take into account that people won't just mindlessly buy this ala CoD. It's the indie problem where the lack of exposure means they have to use a lower price to attract in potential buyers.

Agree this is well put.
And just what on user had to say about BF2...
I really hope they incorporate single player skirmishes, using bots to fill in players. I remember playing Battlefield 2 for hours with bots and had a ton of fun with it. If it is just multiplayer I may pass it up, I don't like being limited in terms of what aspect of the FPS / RTS I can play as determined by vote kicks and guilds swarming a server and voting to have the game the way they want it by sheer numbers. I'd also hate to go 50 multiplayer matches without ever seeing the RTS aspect because someone else got to be commander.
I personally hated the BF2 SP though I had hundreds of hours of play in online over the course of years so I would really like to see an objective story based campaign in a SP, but I do agree a SP element is a must particularly if you want to command a higher price .

The reason BF2 had no proper SP is clear when you jump into the Bad Company series. It's the same reason EA are using an internal studio for Medal Of Honor singleplayer and DICE for multiplayer. It sucks in comparison to what they can do in a multiplayer environment. Their large scale multiplayer experience (pre-Frostbite Engine) was unrivaled, and to churn out a sub-par SP campaign would have really put a downer on the game. DICE stuck to what they knew and that was how to create (strictly IMO) the greatest multiplayer experience to date. Let's hope Interwave give them a run for their money :D

Well, I wasn't saying that £30-£40 is the price that they should put it at - obviously I don't work for IW and have no idea what the best price is for maximising profit.
I was just commenting to Rusty Silver since he/she was wondering "if there was anyone or any group of people passionate about this game". I know I am, and that's why I, myself, would be willing to pay more.
In fact, I'd pre-purchase it for more than £40 if it meant special access to the beta!

Same here, I'm going to be purchasing this game no matter what price they put it on for (retail stores sell games on average for about 110 dollars on down here, even though our dollar is almost equal to the USD. And publishers tend to be ♥♥♥♥♥ and jack up our local steam price to match retail too)

Apparently its not just you.
I love good sound in my games (I mean, who can beat DICE for FPS audio?) but I'm not concerned if voice acting is the biggest issue with the game. In fact, I'd be extremely pleased.

HAH! so ridiculous, although MW2 was priced at around that and everyone still bought it -_-
At least with Bethesda you know you are going to get a good game at least. But damn are they moneygrubbers (horse armour in Oblivion anyone?)
