Decided to give Far Cry 2 another shot after a year and a half. I'm on hardcore to see what the AI are like, and they're still terrible.
What happened to the whole "if an enemy gets injured, the team mate will carry him to safety" thing? So many times i've gone on a far away rock and sniped a guy in the foot. The moment he drops, everyone spins around and shoots at me.

And what about fire spreading? Is it just me with the issue where it'll spread for a few meters then just abruptly stop, and go out soon after?

And is it just me who has the issue where, after shooting someone, he kind of stands there for a second before falling down dead. And enemies shooting me while they're not even looking at me. ARGH i love you far cry 2, but you keep finding ways to make me hate you. /rant

EDIT: And the flaregun. It says "this can be used to call in enemy reinforcements". IT NEVER WORKS!.

Yeah one lesson to learn about gaming is to never believe promo material. No its not just you that experience the types of things mentioned. Its just how the normal game is.

I like how if you kill someone in a gunner seat the other guy instantly gets in it and you can just shoot him straight away lol

There's also no heards of animals either. no sneaking into an area behind a herd of zebras, you can't burn down an entire grass field.

The animals were in there at one point, that was one of the previews at e3. I haven't played that game in years :) i'll have to reinstall it now just to see.

i thought about this 2 days ago , becouse i rarely saw it too... but then 1 min later a tried it out and sniped someone from far away from behind cover , and it worked. And ive managed to do it a few times more.

Its still there but hard to do.

If they spent 6 months just patching AI, bug fixes, respawning time limits, adding in the stuff they promised pre-launch, etc, they could re-release the game and it would be one of the best games ever made.

At the moment, there is so much promise, and there are so many moments where the game is just phenomenal. But then you go back to a fully-manned checkpoint which you gunned down 5 minutes ago, or you sneak up and kill someone only to have the entire village know exactly where you are, and it tempers your enthusiasm for the game.
