ok so the main campaign is meant to be set between episodes 3 and 4 and starkiller dies at the end of it.
so why is starkiller alive and still a sith in the hoth campain which is set at the start of episode 5?

That's a bonus level and not related to the main stories in any way.

There are two endings. One has Starkiller simply die. The bonus content however, Hoth and Tatooine level follow the 2nd end, where Starkiller killes Darth Vader and after his "death" takes up Vaders place, next to the Emperor.

just redid the last mission and killed vader instead of the emporer

oh wow... im glad I read this or else I wouldnt had known about the seperate endings

Most starwars game which involves the player being a Jedi has 2 endings, except for Jedi Outcast, i do not believe that has more then the single ending.
