I'm pretty excited for SMB because it reminds me of one of my favorites: I Wanna Be the Guy. Anyone else?

If you haven't heard of it, its masochistically difficult with a decent sense of humor. Here's a video that gives a good idea.

Fun Fact: The Kid is in super meat boy. He even has some brutal stages.

I've never dared playing IWBTG yet but I think I will some day xD It's already downloaded and just waits for me to install it.

I like IWBTG, but it's really quite different from SMB, conceptually. IWBTG delights in being actually cruel and unfair to the player (with random murderous surprises, etc), whereas SMB is cruel and fair. Both great games, though. :)

That games looks soo frustrating.

Edit; Reminds me of a cruel super mario clone where you play as a cat... Anyone played that one? I'll try and find it.

That one is called "Syobon Action" or "Cat Mario". You should be able to find it in the internet, however I didn't manage to get it running on my PC...

Yeah, I beat the first four bosses, but I haven't played for a few months. Great game. Cruel and unfair, but great. I think the creator, or someone else, should pick it up, polish it, debug it, make it look nicer, de-port? it from that god-awful Macromedia Fusion 2 crap, and sell it on Steam. I think that man could make a lot of money. I would buy it, at least.

Seeing that SMB still frustrates me at a regular basis...
I might play it, tried it once but I couldn't shoot. Was I supposed to be able to shoot from the start or do you get the gun later on? If so, i didn't hat the patience for it.

I beat IWBTG but didn't have nearly as much fun with it as I did with SMB. Lots of my deaths in IWBTG felt cheap. In meatboy I felt deserving of the abuse. :)
