Black Ops Map Editing Tools?

hi, i really like to map for Counter Strike and Left 4 Dead and all those Valve games, and thought it maybe be a SDK for Black Ops for PC?

Treyarch has officially announced there will be some mod tools released at a date not yet known, but after the official release of Black Ops.

We have no info as to what will be included with these mod tools.

I would like to see Highrise move to Black ops but we have to wait to some unknown time after the release. And thats even if "modding" encompasses a complete SDK or even map editor.

I'd like to see some WaW maps remade. I wouldn't mind seeing Chinatown's original version (forgot the name) from CoD2, though that's probably not a fitting map.

Pc-tools will be released after 3-4 dlc's packs that means when a new cod-series comes out. When there are low black ops gamers online something like +-10000 people, mod-tools will be released thats when i breaked this dvd.

The SDK will be released just before the next COD title, so nobody will make any maps and nobody will give a damn.

They'll probably release mod tools by the time the next CoD releases (at the same time they'll shut down the dedicated servers). If it comes at all that is... With DLC maps coming, I just don't see why they'd release mod tools, it's not like that'll make them any money (unless the dedicated servers makes them loads of dosh).

just your opinion not a fact...mod tool came out a few months after CoD4 was released. Cod WaW mod tool came out a week or so after the game was released

beside it HAS NOT been announced when we will get them. as for the maps we're not even sure if they're releasing the maps for PS3 and PC.

Everything is correct.
Game is still in beta stage so we will get Mod tools maybe week after official release. But we don't know the date of full version release yet.

unless you plan on making Rocket and Hurtgen, Harbor is about the only one that someone from the community will make. just speaking form Cod4 and WaW experience.

that being said ive been out of the mapping scene since WaW, and not sure if the other 2 were made for CoD4 and WaW.

If they ever make SDK tools, that would be way way into the future, I doubt they'd take the risk to lose sales of their 5-maps pack given people would skip it as the community would bring hundreds of maps for free.
