Can I use the steam demo to reactivate my account?

Let me clarify. I have already purchased EVE from the CCP website (Feb 2009) but I no longer have it installed on my machine. I have reactivated my eve account a few minutes ago through CCP but am now wondering if i can use the steam demo (which I assume is the full client) for my install file or do I need to download the one directly from CCP?

Hope that makes sense, was hoping to use steam to get the client since the CCP file download is SLOOOOOOOW........

yes you can log into the steam demo with a fully active EVE account and get full access to the game.

you will just be prompted every time you exit the game to buy it.

When I last downloaded EVE from Steam, its version had a bug that caused planets not to appear in game. I dont know if they fixed it or not. So keep an eye out for that.
