Since the patch rolled out I've experienced random short freezing in the game, ranging from 1 sec to 5 seconds, in which I just stand still and...freeze

Anyone else sharing my pain?

I have this short freezes too. I'm on a Phenom II x4 965 BE and a Vapor-X 5870, Win7 64bit and with ATi 10.4 drivers.

It's exactly that, short freezes ranging from 1 to 5 secs. Pretty annoying...

I have the same rig as you have and I am not experiencing such a issue. But I use 10.10c but tonight will install 10.10d ;)

My problems went away next day, probably a server side issue

I was getting them last night myself, thought it was the server so I switched servers and 10 minutes later it was happening again. Could be a server thing but it seems to be getting more consistent as it happened 3 times now for me after ~10 minutes of play. Could be memory leaks in this patch.

PS still using the old ATI 10.1 driver.

I haven't tried since then. I'll see if that happens to me again in another server and if it does I should probably try another driver.

I found out that 10.4b was the best driver for me in BFBC2, no freezes (at least before patch), decent fps, fast loading times. What driver do you think is best now?

I have compared 10.10d to 10.5a and I didn't noticed any significant increase or decrease fps.
But with 10.5a the loading time is longer.
I will try today 10.4 as mentioned above.

Nice to hear you'll try the 10.4. I'd like to see your opinion... :)

I have tried 10.4 and the game runs better then with 10.10(a-d) for me.
I think is because in 10.4 the "Mipmap Level setting" in CCC is set up to performance , therefore game runs smoother. In 10.10(a-d) is set up to quality. In 10.10 it looks little bit nicer but those colors in 10.10(a-d) are *****. I have been using 10.10c for like 2 weeks I got used to those colors and yesterday I have tried 10.4 and those colors from 10.10 are really ugly. White color appears like light pink.
Today I will try 10.4a and 10.4b.
I thought tragikos you meant 10.4 but you wrote 10.4b.
Will see tonight.

Haven't had time to check for those random freezing, will do tonight.

I'm not sure if I'm glad to hear phobus that 10.4 is actually better, it's good since I'm using it now, but I'd like to find a later driver of equal performance that doesn't create problems in more recent games like Lost Planet 2 i.e.(this game sucks but I'd like to try it) :)

You might wanna try http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=331759
I did read there , that they have nice improvement with those.
I will try them before 10.4a and 10.4b.

I did try again and got no random freezes. Guessing it was a server problem.

Any news on which one is the best driver? :P

I got some more freezes yesterday too. Can't figure out what causes them... :(

It seems to me this only happens on 32 player servers since it hasn't happened to me when i played on <28 player servers.

It didn't happen even on 32 player servers before the patch though...
