Blood Bowl Legendary Edition anyone play?

The concept looks great but if I can't play with other people on a regular basis i'd have to pass. Is it online multiplayer and is it active?

Yes this game is all about multiplayer online. Either in the two matchmaking leagues or the countless private leagues players make.

I'm a member of the Orca Cola league, and we have two sign up threads for next season; One for people who still use BB1, and 1 for people who now use the LE. The former has 2 players in it, the latter has now well over a hundred. So it seems almost everyone has upgraded to the LE, and thus there's always a lot of opponents online as well. I haven't had to wait more than a couple of minutes to get MatchMaker games lately.

I was under the impression that older versions of the game were going to be updated with new races as they were added. I'm assuming that's incorrect? If so, that really sucks.

Yes, they decided that they were going to sell people the new races as a totally new version rather than upgrading the old version. BB:LE adds *most* of the remaining blood bowl races, with the rest being unlikely to be added at any point except via 3rd party modding (which the company violently opposes).

It adds more than races. It also adds better graphic effects as well as the new rule set and inducements as well as a new game mode called story mode where you start as assistant coach and work your way to having your own team trying to get into the biggest cups.
