Why did I just start getting this error? I was playing Venice yesterday without a hitch, and the moment I try to start it up this evening, it doesn't work. I haven't touched any settings or accounts.

This might put some light on what is going on.

Yeah, that would explain it all. I just tried now and I can load up my games.
It's pretty ridiculous that I wouldn't be able to play a local saved game just because their servers are down. I normally don't have a problem with DRM, but I'm a legitimate customer who just wants to enjoy the game...

Us over on the Ubi forum don't have that problem. Unless you are saving games on your online profile. I don't have to be connected to play. That is I don't save my games to my online profile. I don't like the online profile for that reason.

It started working again yesterday. Yes, my profile is an "online" one; however, the save games are on my local machine so why does it matter if I'm connect to the internet to play it if my profile is online enabled? It shouldn't matter.

Well frankly that's your fault for choosing an online account instead of the local based account to play single player games.
