Can't connect to private server for MP

Hey all,

Me and a mate just got this but can't I can't connect to games he hosts and vice versa. I can see his server but when I try to join it sits on the 'connecting to the match, please wait...' box indefinitely.

Any ideas?

Usual question: Can you connect in other games? Is there any firewall/NAT present?

I also had this problem are you on the same LAN becuase if you are connect with his local address not his external one Frontlines does nto support 2 cleints on the same IP.

If he is externally hosting ie at his house then make sure he gives you his external IP and make sure the ports are forwarded to his PC on his end. The Ports are:
UDP:30430 6623 7623 9378 9103 9855 9856

Cheers for the suggestions guys - I forwarded all my ports properly and we tried connecting using external ip and from the list of servers but still no joy. We are connecting over the net. We have no problems with any other MP games. No firewalls present.

If you or they are using punkbuster both should be sure to have the latest version and check the option "Enable my punkbuster" in the browser menu.

Tried enabling punkbuster, no joy. I have logged a ticket with support :/

Apparently support have better things to do than answer questions about the products they sell - any other suggestions would be hugely awesome :)

I would say try this:

Have you forwarded the ports I mentioned to your IP, and your IP might change every time you boot your pc unless you have it set to a static IP.

Restart the router (yes all the way not just save settings)

Then Try, if that fails it might be a firewall or something blocking it. Or he has a static internal IP.

Keep in mind if your trying to connect to a 192.168.x.x then thats his internal IP you need to find his external IP.

Worst case scenario use Hamachi.
