I don't know if anyone noticed but if you buy the full magic pack its $40, but if you buy the full deck collection and then buy the game and all 3 expansions, it's only $38. Not much of a difference but still, why would they charge more for buying the complete pack?

P.S. the deck unlocks and foil conversions are a waste of money

Base game = $10
Exp 1 = $5
Exp 2 = $5
Exp 3 = $5
Deck unlocks/foil conversions = 28 @ $1 each.

Total content = $53 (minus some pennies because the prices are actually $x.99)

Even before they added Exp 3, the package price was not a fail.

It might be nice if they had a package of just the base game & expansions for those who consider the unlocks/foils a waste of money (I agree with you there), but the package price *is* a discount if you want everything.

What I'm saying is

Complete Pack = $40

Complete Deck Collection = $13
Full Game = $10
Exp 1 = $5
Exp 2 = $5
Exp 3 = $5

Total $38

So you save $2 if you buy the deck collection, the game, and all 3 expansions then just buying the complete pack.

Funny thing, if you do a search for Magic the Gathering or Duels of the Plainswalkers, you don't get the deck collection in the search results (although you do get a couple of unrelated titles). You only see that deck collection if you actually go into one of the store pages.

So, yes, if you happen to notice that when you go to the store page, you could save an additional $2. That doesn't exactly make the complete package a "fail" IMO, but yeah, you can can save just a little more if you pay attention when you're shopping.

Why do they do this? Why can't you see the deck collection through the search results? Eh, some things are just unexplainable.

I know it's not really a fail, but the complete pack should be cheaper then buying things separately.
