Does anyone think they know what the ESRB rating of Portal 2 might be? I'm 15 and therefore my parents set a max of Teen for me. I guess portal 2 will be rated teen but does anyone have a different idea?

Portal was T, and I recall somewhere Valve are shooting for the same rating, if that doesn't happen have an older friend/sibling get it for you and just give them the money for the game. :)

Well from what we have seen i would say it should get a T rating, but there is sooooo much we haven't seen that could bump it up to M, but i doubt it.

I can't believe the first one got rated M here in Australia, geez we really are a bunch of pussys when it comes to game rating.

Umm...I just looked at your Aussie rating system, looks like over there M is the same thing as T is over here in the US (your PG rating would probably be the same as our E10+ rating and your MA15+ rating would be the same as our M I imagine).

Wait what? Your parents don't let you play M games? That sucks.

I remember my first M game. Devil May Cry on the PS2, I was 8 or 9 when I played it I think

There is no way its going to be a M (17 right?) but it might be a ??(15) But it will most likely be a T (13 right?)

your ratings are weird

also Australia made GTA a 15 so your not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I think VALVe want this game to be for as much ages as possible. Its a puzzle game. How high do you think they will go?

well theres certainly action and explosions, but i don't see there being any blood.

My first was L4D1. I was 12.

O/T: Portal 2 will most likely be T, since I think Valve knows how many T aged people have played Portal 1 and want Portal 2.

Well, there was blood from being shot by turrets in Portal 2.

I think Portal 2 should be restricted to 17+ so we can have adult scene where Chell and Gordon Freeman hook up in a secret chamber and well.... you know, have a good time. ;)

The European version of Portal 1 is also with blood when you get shot.

Nah, that's boring.
D.I.Y.... way more fun, I think. ;);):p

@Lia true that... Portal may have blood on screen from being shot, but not like MW2's blood (on screen). Portal is not graphic in any way

There was blood in Portal 1, ever look at walls behind you when your shot?

Though what's funny to watch is; turn on Godmode and place portals so you can see yourself and let a turret shoot you. You'll notice that you don't have blood decals on you but the wall magically gets blood. :/

We haven't seen anything to suggest it won't be T/12.

Don't feel old, my first one was DOOM (the very first one, yes), I was 14.
In the 80's, the time where computers were oversized calculators, where you thought Kirk's communicator was real science-fiction and the pics where black & white... wiait, or did we had coloured pictures already? Aah, memory blurs... *tatter* ;)

It's actually the tears of the turrets, they get sad when they see you so they spew out tears.

Here it's E10+
And as for the Austrailians your rating is PG
And if anyone from non-England Europe sees this it's 12 over there
Also, my first M game was Metal Gear Solid when I was 5, that one actually I'm suprised it's not T, but stores didn't start restricting sales until around the time GTA III came out so it's not that suprising.

I don't think any of the characters will. Except the british ones saying things like bloody and what not.

But words like "Bloody" are only bad words if you're British, so does that make the rating worse in Britain than in America?

From what i know, Bloody isn't that bad a word. It's like hell. You can say hell in an E rated game because it's such a weak bad word.

This thread did not need to be brought back. There is another thread that has already been thoroughly exhausted discussing the exact same thing.

I really wish both would be closed. It's getting stupid.

Look at DK64! Also, I knew it'd be E10+... -_-
