BSOD on loadup

Tried running the Demo, but each time I run it, it gives me a Blue Screen of Death, and reboots my computer. I've verified the integrity of the Demo, and each time it says '1 file failed to validate and will be required", and I've run it several times now; same message each time.

The BSOD mentioned the nvidia driver's dll file (unsure of the name; but I did see nv_---.dll). I've updated my drivers (260.99) for my GTX460.

I'm running 32-bit Windows XP.

Any ideas?

Did you install all DirectX runtimes(DX9, DEX10, DX11)?
Which .NET framework have you installed?
Do you have also Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable 2005 & 2008?

There's a web installer that download and install the DX runtimes to your pc. A lot of applications use .NET framework to run, perhaps that's the cause. Steam install visual c++ libraries by default one of those the first time you start a game, but it won't hurt to take a look if are really installed.

I installed the DirectX runtimes (I can only use DX9 anyways).
I have .NET 3.5, so I know that's up-to-date
I also have the 2005 and 2008 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (I have several copies of showing in my Add or Remove Programs)

Same thing here, though it's happening with the full version. I can run it 5 seconds after it finishes, and it'll still fail to validate

Anyone figure it out?

Well, the Nvidia driver seems not to like the game. Maybe you could try messing with the driver settings.
