Hi guys.
I, like many of you guys, am experiencing a great deal of difficulty trying to enjoy my new game.
Unlike most of you guys though, my problems seem to be solely singleplayer related. I can play the multiplayer, sure it runs like garbage and it's more like a slideshow, but at least it's working sort of. :D

Whenever I start a singleplayer game, I can play really well (well, maybe not THAT well) until the second half of the first level- the part at the compound.
In this part of the level, the game will randomly decide to freeze, every single time I have tried.
The sound continues however, everything stops moving and eventually, the process stops responding and I have to task kill it. The most painful part about all of this is that I haven't even finished the first level yet- the furthest I've gotten so far is to the airfield- about 15 minutes in. Since I'm Aussie I've had this game for about seven hours unlocked, and I've been trying to fix it pretty much the whole time. Ctrl+Alt+Del reveals that when the game crashes, my CPU is running at 100%, however my RAM runs between 50% and 70%.

tl;dr MY GAM IS BROK HOW DO I FIX?

my specs:
Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit (Korean Language- the game is installed in English)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00 GHz (horrible i know, but it still exceeds the minimum requirements)
4GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT 512MB with most recent (260.99) drivers.

And here is a list of things I have tried, with varying degrees of success:

-Turned all the graphics options down to low.
-Started steam in Offline mode, then task-killed it once the game has started (note- this results in a HUGE boost in performance, but does not stop the crashes)
-Updated drivers
-Rolled back drivers
-Updated drivers again
-Verified game cache
-Defragged game files

If anyone has a miracle solution, I will love you forever. I promise.
