COD Black Ops: no servers showing up

when i open multiplayer and search for a game it shows- Servers 0(serversfound###) but no servers popup please helpp

how long have they been down because i was talking to my friend who was playing online but i still had this problem (this was yesterday)

Here is a tip:

I was having problems having any servers showing up.
I used this fix which can also be a general fix for MP.

cl_maxpackets 100 in the console.

After I put that in the servers started showing up, I guess 30 packets which is default wasn't enough in packet 'bandwidth'?

You press the ~ key when in the MP menu.
Up top a console should show up if you have it enabled in the settings.

When you type cl_maxpackets you can see it show up so all you do is type cl_maxpackets 100 and close it.
Then you can restart the game in MP again and try the server browser again.

In any case it should or could help with MP and server browser even if at the moment you can't see servers listing.

At any time you can put it back down to 30, I am keeping mine at 100 though, since it lets more packets be used.

This actually landed me about 100 more servers on my list so thank you for this post. I'm showing 190 / 3068 now and that's showing all servers no matter what or , no filter present. Better then nothing right?? Maybe I'll try to turn it up some more, if possible lol.

Update:

Bumping it up past, 100 did nothing more for me.

Edit again:

If you restart the game the setting changes back to the default again so you just want to enter that setting as described and then refresh your list right away and the change will be noticeable.

They need to fix this issue because it is causing me to lose like 100 games on my list and to be honest, I would like to see the other 3000 servers as well.

I'm having the same exact issue, what's the deal!?!?!? out of 11k servers, 1 showed up, a server in Tokyo Japan(which had 1.7k ping btw), and I'm from the USA. WTF??? thats all I can see out of 11k servers. Another fail part of this game.

This has suddenly started happening to me.

I increased maxpackets to 60 and after a slow query i managed to see 5 servers out of 10,000 with players on, with filters that i like.

As soon as you change your filters stuff messes up.

I've made a few very angry posts on black op's official forums... was actually managing to enjoy their incredibly buggy game before this happened.

Yeah, not good enough, same crap happening to me now. Now they have the audacity to ask us to pay for maps? FAILOPS!

that happens to me to as sometimes....u have to click back and forth on the server tabs as well hit refresh each time u click a tab,favorites tab,recent tab,wager tab,i have had to click refresh 20+ times sometimes,its a pain in the ♥♥♥ but it werks

Same problem here, changing maxpackets didn't do anything. Not a single server shows up on the list, but it shows that it found several thousand. When I try joining through the main menu by clicking "Ranked Match" or "Wager Match", it just says "Cannot connect to server".

Hey Guys and Gals,

So anyways I found the issue I was having and what I did to change the same situation u guys are in was..... I changed the "MODS" in filters from "YES" to "NO" and wala the servers showed up! Hope this helps.

This has happened to me often for a long time.

1. It has nothing to do with filters, refresh and change it around every time.

2. It usually popped up as (84)servers found but none showing up. Now it's (6189) but not showing up.

3. Why do any of us still play this game? Haha, I can't say I play it often anymore. However when I feel like jumping into an FPS I chose BlackOps. NO idea why.. perhaps because for some reason it's the one game I can kick serious ♥♥♥ in but other then that I have no idea why we still all play such a horrible and bugged up game :(

sadly there are plenty of crappy developers. but its more of the fact that we pc gamers are second rate citizens. the xbox doesnt have a server browser
