The game does now work for me.
I have both problems mentioned on this forum:
1) Constant re-installing of the dependencies - in my case .net4 (which can be solved with a registry hack - sigh)
2) The app freezes at start up - this looks like an incompatibility with Radeon's Catalyst 10.2 driver.
So, anyone know how I can get my money back???

I've never heard of anyone getting refunded for a Steam purchase, even for something like this
Gajin games said they're working on a patch, give it another week

I donīt have any issues with the game, imo i think you should wait for Gajin, to fix the issues.
About your problems:

2) Install Catalyst 10.10

Your solutions...
1) That solution should only be attempted once you have tried to run the game once - else if you NEED .net4, then the install won't find it
2) That won't work for legacy cards like my X1650
I do have issues with the game - it don't friggin work.

Well mate, i was just trying to help you, to run the game.
About the first problem: yes, .net4 should only run once, but there's a problem, after 1st install, you can delete it. If you need it: Verify Game Cache, and it'll download it again.
About the 2nd problem, i don't have an legacy card, so i was just shooting in the dark.

Sorry if I came across all arsey mate - not my intention - thanks for your help.
I have got over the .net4 repeat install thing, basically there is a registry entry missing for one or more dependency items for this game.
I am not sure how the guys are going to get around the 10.2 driver issue - and Radeon have not produced an update for ages.

No problem, i understand...
Hope they'll fix those issues so u can play the game, it's a really fun game.
In my case:

I eventually solved that issue. I no longer get repeated attempts to install the .NET framework.
2) Install Catalyst 10.10
Installed already. Still freezes after loading screen (I have an HD4870X2). THIS is the big issue for me at the moment because I cannot play the game. Did none of the testers for this game even have ATI cards to try their game with? You'd think they would have caught this.
EDIT: Nevermind, this is happening with Nvidia users too from what I have been reading. Waiting for a fix. In the meantime, Minecraft can provide many hours of enjoyment.

I have an HD 5850, and i don't have any issues. Have you tried to disable any Anti-Aliasing or the Catalyst AI in CCC (Catalyst Control Center)?

<bump>
Enough - I want my money back - does anyone know how and who to contact?
(I feel like I have been mugged)
According to the support pages Steam does not offer refunds (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4938-WTDF-9465)
But you can always try to contact the support: https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php (you'll need to create an account for the support system in order to contact the support though)
I hope you'll get your refund. Good luck, mate.
