Pretty easy to pick up everything in a short time using the Practice mode, but it appears many do not use it and just jump into a game, meaning lots of teammates who do nothing or little to further team goals without you having to instruct them via text chat.

So true. I am a noob at thsi game coming from playing TF2 (im much less of a noob there), and I understand the point of objectives. However, most of the time, people think that "carry the gold" is "shoot everything in sight"

This works if your the defending team, but less so if your attacking...

I am always typing things like "how about we try the objective, guys"
And then that works. But if there was voice chat, like in, I dont know, EVERY SINGLE OTHER GAME, it would allow the team to be much more cohesive.

I use Ventrilo with my friends on a daily basis. When I'm in game with friends we're coordinating via Vent. It's an alternative, although getting everyone on the same Vent server might take some doing unless they're regulars to a server. Voice communication is invaluable in this game and it would be great if teams had their own voice channels, but I think it might be used for bad too--like insulting players that don't meet your standards.

I haven't played this game in quite a while because of the lack of voice chat. It really needs to be added so your team can work together towards the objectives.

The game doesn't even support the Steam chat function that you set in preferences? That's weird.

I don't have this game, but I thought that some games without their own voice chat use the button you assign in the steam prefs.
