Black Screen Crash is Fixed now it's a Direct3DDevice9 crash?

I really hope this game is awesome. The latest patch fixed the black screen bug and now I can see a quick fmv movie play but I get a Direct3DDevice9 error.

At this point I basically have a brand new xp machine, I've wiped the OS leaving only steam running, I even updated the BIOS and updated the AMD drivers for the processor. I have all updates for everything, you name it -n- it is updated, realtek, directx, ati driver, etc, it's all good, screen rez is 1024x768 32bit color.

Has anyone had luck fixing this new problem?

no luck, just the same problem
I have sent an error report to activisoin support, no answer yet
the only thing we can do is wait until the fix "the bigger" problems and jump onto ours
