So I followed a link in one of the other post that provided a way around the Risen "key" issue... it contained a trojan virus that only adaware found. Avast and malwarebytes ignored it, but lavasoft adaware found a trojan in the "RISEN.V1.10.ALL.RELOADED.NODVD.zip" file in the DVM.DLL file. It found the Trojan.win32.generic/BT malware.

Be warned that these hacks and cracks people are suggesting you use as get around are not safe and not tested...

The official post says they are working on the key issue and not to use hacks and cracks as if it does and you do break you steam user agreement they will not be responsible for your steam account.

important bits.

Dear Risen fans/buyers,

As you're fully aware, the server ran out of activation keys for Risen over the weekend because of an unexpected "tsunami of orders" which nobody could anticipate in such a magnitude.
******
While our support is also around for you on weekends, feeding the server with activation keys is not a trivial task so we'll have to wait for the experts to arrive in the office on Monday.

P.s. In the meantime please don't try to circumvent the copy protection since this might be a violation of the TOS of Steam and could endager your Steam account.

How about uploading the zip to http://virustotal.com ? - could be a false positive.

it detects a virus anyway.

1337gamers that would never happen and you know it.
There is no law stopping you visiting them sites,as long as your not breaking the law using cracks you are doing nothing wrong.
otherwise them sites would be taken down in a heartbeat.

TAGES driver scans a users computer for pirated software or if you ever visited a pirate site online and will disable your steam account since hacking is illegal.

Actually hacking is illegal in every country. Copyright infringement and altering the game is also illegal as per the EULA with steam. Steam can not take down sites on the internet, as its out of their scope of control. Instead steam can and does disable accounts of people who support piracy and used hacked software to play games legally purchased or not. This is why aimbots are also illegal and you get vac banned and your account possibly terminated.
The last part is a trolling again, if you use aim bot, you get only vac banned and nothing more, they cant close your account.

It's a false positive. Any crack is. It overwrites main files for that product and in the process changes registry entries and things of the like, all the classic signs of a real trojan.

If you get the NO CD from a legit scene release, you're fine. I can't say what those are here for fear of getting banned.

Hell, I might get banned already for just saying this, actually.

Just take my word for it, it's a false positive. I've been sailing the internet high seas for awhile now. Hint hint.

A EULA isn't a law. Not even if you misunderstand and subsequently misuse the word "illegal" is a EULA a law.

Why are you guys even bothering to reply to a person with a forum name like 1337gamers? As soon as you see the name you know it just has to be a 10 year old, or someone with a learning deficiency.

Stop replying to his posts, he is just trying to wind you all up and he has absolutely zero knowledge of anything other than how to pull his pants down to take a dump (maybe).
