I found a fix for the "buffer overrun" error for 10.5 driver and higher (I am on 10.10 atm)

Download the atioglxx.dll file (use google to search it up), add the file to the game folder (extract the file first if necessary) and you are good to go.

Worked for me, but I get micro freeze lag:( but it is playable:D:D

i got COD working now, even though i downloaded the file, i got it working by reinstalling my origional ATI drivers i got with my card (8.something) and apart from being a bit on the dark side, game now runs fine. i may still try the file download, to see if it improves the look of the game.
Just to note, that im getting low frames rates of an avergae of about 25fps and my set up is:
AMD athlonII x2 240
ATI4670 1gb
2gb ram
and can run all other cod titles (except BO) at high settings.
now all i need to do is sort out the res to run on my 19" widescreen monitor (1440x900)

Buffer overrun is OpenGL related and will be fixed in the near future.. This is what I read in one of the related threads on the AMD Gaming forums: "I've already said it is going to be fixed soon, thread closed.". Ok, I got Call of Duty working on Cat 11.1 drivers.

The file in the 2nd post works. However, you have to run a couple settings in compatibility mode:

Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
Disable desktop composition
Run this program as an administrator

I did all those things, and it started up no problem. I'm going to patch it now and see if it still works.

Specs:

Phenom II X4 965BE
Radeon HD 5870
Windows 7 HP 64-bit
Corsair HX750 PSU
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatality

EDIT: Both single player and multiplayer are confirmed working with the newest patch and the tweaks listed above. Have a good day boys. :D

11.2 here and crashing, about to try some of these fixes ...

Update: I managed to get to the menu screen using the file from post2 above, so that was an improvement over the crashing when launching problem. However, when I tried to change my resolution it blue screened with an ati .sys file (missed the name) ...

Update: now working. Phew.

2nd post suggestion worked well for me. I'm running windows 7 64 bit ultimate and using ATI 5770.
