Thanks for putting up Flight Control HD for such a low price! It's a neat little game. Thank you even more for including advanced support for drawing pads! I can't really think about going back to a mouse.

I'm using the massively awesome Wacom Cintiq 21UX, no brag, just fact. If you know what that is, you are giggling with glee. If you don't, well... hmm. It's a 21-inch touch screen designed to work with a stylus pen, so it's a computer screen you draw on directly. It's wonderful for digital-based graphic arts, but it can be quite a gaming tool as well. I find it's great with Plants Vs. Zombies, and it's also very good with Flight Control HD. These games are seriously cutting into my productivity time, though, and the mighty 21UX ain't cheap.

My experience with Wacom products is that they all have a little bit of difficulty tracking right at the edge. If any devs are reading this, this makes it a little harder to select planes right on the edge with a stylus. I would kindly suggest shrinking the playable area by a small amount, so we don't have to put the stylus right on the edge of the screen.

Also, the menu screens don't seem to respond to stylus single clicks, although the main game responds well for the most part.

I would please like to have a stronger audio alert when an aircraft accepts its new heading. I am not looking at the aircraft I am handling, but rather, I look where it's going to go. With a stronger audio alert, I would know more easily that the aircraft is accepting its heading without having to visually re-check it.

Also, I would please like to see larger alert markers for when aircraft are about to enter the play area. These markers could also appear sooner than they do at present. This might make it a little easier to keep track of aircraft at the edges of the map.

Would it be possible to include more options in the game? Maybe a Custom Game that would not be recorded for the leaderboard. Then we could have options like:

- Infinite play mode, maybe with crashes disabled. Sometimes, I like to play games for the zen of it, rather than to compete for a leaderboard. I'd really like some kind of mode that has extended play time.

- Set aircraft icon size. Smaller aircraft icons may mean fewer crashes.

- User-selectable aircraft types. Maybe no seaplanes, or all helicopters, whatever the user likes. Also user-selectable game speed. A nice slo-mode for kids, rookies, and, well, me.

- ALT-click drawing: users can draw waypoints on the map to help organize flight lanes and approaches

- Draw A Circle = Create Holding Pattern. Drawing a circle would keep an aircraft in a holding pattern indefinitely.

- Earnable upgrades: chill pill that slows the map down for x seconds, autolanding for 1 selected aircraft, holding patterns, user-controllable weather for x seconds, etc.

Thanks for checking out this thread. Flight Control HD is a nice game, especially at this price point. I hope that my thoughts might help it be even better!

Nice post Twelvefield.
Do you play with mouse ?
I'm having a few issues when directing a plane to a lane, I end up clearing the path of some other near plane.
This becames very annoing when trying to redirect one that is very much on top of the landing point, the same plane gets cleared and you end up with precious time wasted.

Very nice game, loving it !

Did you read his post? It's all about him using a Wacom touch screen.

I did, and I know the first part is about the touchscreen, but since the rest are general support / request thread I thought in adding my comment to keep them tight in one thread.

I'm sorry if that disturbed you. Look, there's something really simple you can do to fix it. Go put on a red t-shirt, then make yourself a tea and after that go mind your own bussiness.

I've stopped playing this game with a mouse. It's so much better with the 21UX. But the 21UX is really expensive just to get a better score in Flight Control.

Even though the 21UX is an extremely precise tool for selecting and guiding the aircraft, I also find myself accidentally selecting planes that are clustered on final approach over the airport. At least the pilots never abort their landings on their own (not that I have seen yet, anyways)! I don't know how to solve mis-selecting these aircraft. There are rare occasions where I feel I might need to abort a landing on final, like for a big jumbo jet on approach I forgot about about that insists on inserting itself into the slow short range jet right at the runway threshold.

I have the Wacom Cintiq 12wx that I use for art, but like to use for gaming as well where appropriate. This game looks perfect for this device.

If you are wondering how to make the game's display smaller on the screen, you can do that in your graphics card's options. For my AMD card i go into Catylist Control Center, then to Desktop and Displays. Right click on your monitor (the cintiq) on the bottom of the window, and click on configure. Turn off "Enable GPU Scaling," and change the check box below it to to "Use Center Timings." You can then change your resolution to a slightly smaller one to have a black edge around the screen. Alternatively, if you have an option for an under-scan slider, you can adjust that to shrink the display on screen.
