I don't know if this has been said, but in the Team Meat interview (http://xbox-360.nowgamer.com/features/1063/super-meat-boy-team-meat-interview), on page 4, the paragraph above the second picture is as follows:

Tommy: Yeah, I know just how much it costs to make a game, and how much companies ‘require’ to make a game. There was a game that came out, I won’t tell you the name of it, but it’s on Wii. That game started in 2000 and it just came out a couple of months ago. I left the company in 2006. They were, I believe, something like $4 million in debt.

Just because I feel like it, I wanted to hazard a guess. I don't know if anybody was curious or already deduced this, but my guess is that the game he's talking about is A Boy and His Blob.

I say this because I, along with about three or so others, liked A Boy and His Blob and it's even less known sequel. Wikipedia doesn't mention this, but prior to the GBA, the third game was going to be on the Gameboy Color.

You'll have to take this at my word, I suppose, but I had been very interested in the game at the time. I saw the cover artwork of Jelly's Adventure before the GBA was even out, with the usual GBC bar on the left side of the concept boxart. Later on, this obviously became vaporware and the project was moved onto the GBA. This, sadly, also never came to be. Admittedly, what was there didn't look nearly as nice as what we got with the Wii game, which became something else entirely.

The game sold like crap, the audience was about twice the size of the original A Boy and His Blob fanbase prior to this game, and I don't think I have to tell you that three times two is a pretty low number. You can find a sealed copy for about $10 or less, last time I checked. The game came out November of last year. Maybe it's stretching it, or he didn't realize how long ago it really was, but a year ago might still count as a few months.

I'm not sure how WayForward is doing financially, but they've been around for quite some time, and though they're great, I could imagine them being in debt. As for the publisher, Majesco, they've had a long history of big ups and downs.

Though, I'm sure I could be COMPLETELY off base here, and I totally understand why Tommy wouldn't want to name names himself, but I just wanted to see if anybody thinks I've hit the nail on the head here. Sorry if this has already been discussed, or worse, that none of you give a damn.

At any rate, pre-orders are finally up, I placed mine, and I'm excited to play this. Hope you all enjoy this game, peace.

A Boy and His Blob came out over a year ago, though, so I'm kind of apprehensive about it fitting the bill for a release from "a couple of months ago". According to Wikipedia, the game is HoopWorld. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HoopWorld) Yeah, I know Wikipedia isn't an authoritative source but HoopWorld's developer was the last company Tommy worked for before striking out on his own and HoopWorld came out in July/August.

Yeah, it's not A Boy and His Blob, because Tommy never worked at WayForward. Just look at his LinkedIn profile (http://www.linkedin.com/in/tommunism). He was talking about HoopWorld (a game which he and Edmund have joked about before in interviews, specifically and by name). As you can see on his LinkedIn, he left Streamline Studios (the developer of HoopWorld) in 2006, so, that should clear up any doubt about what game he was referring to.
