custom class Bug

My rank has been rest from prestige level 40+ to normal level 1.
Even more strangen is that i still have all my custom clases available,, but i cannot buy anything or change equipement/killstreaks, i cannot even buy contracts... any suggestions?

I don't think there is a fix for this yet, but I can assure you that you're not the only one. I'm having the exact same problem. I have tried every suggestion to no avail. I guess all we can do is hang tight and wait for a patch.

i dont even know what EXP boost is.
Just played the game fair all the time to level prestige 40+ 4 days ago or something, then my rank was suddenly reset to normal rank 1.
Now what is really strange i do still have my custom classes, even the weapons i havent even unlocked yet, like the AK47.... so i am like rank 30, but can play AK47 , but i cannot make changes in my class, or even buy killstreaks/ change killstreaks or buy contracts.... really a joke this broken piece of what they call a game.... (i like the gameplay very much tough..)

i treid reinstalling the game today, but it did not help.. also disabled steam cloud, no fix either.

TREYARCH, if u read this please fix this so i can play the game i payed for properly with all of the options it has. I am even fine with u guys resetting my rank to 0 again, if the option like killstreaks and class alteration just work. THANKS :)

same problem, activision said caused by getting disconnected from an unstable server, no fix at this time. no way to retrieve lost data, im currently trying playing up to prestige as is again, hoping reset at prstige will correct, but i have no idea if it will work.

if it does, i'll let you know. (i think currently back up to lvl 45)

and yes it sucks, can't change customs, cant buy contracts, can't change killstreak rewards, really cant change anything.

Also: Unfortunately, we cannot handle refunds directly, as our distributors take the product back in bulk from retailers (whose profit has to be accounted for as well). This is why you will have to return the product at the point of purchase.

Any sort of interrupted communication that occurs when the game is updating your stats can result in a reset or rollback. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this.

Hi,
I was prestige level 40. Somehow the system reset it to normal level 1. What is even more strange, is that i cannot buy anything. I have played to level 25 again, so i have custom classes, and i got weapons like the Assault AK47 which arent even unlocked yet (i unlocked it before the reset), it are my old custom classes. Same problems here. I don't know what they are talking about unstable servers though. I bought the game literally tonight, hit lvl 15, went to go buy my famas only to find I had been dropped to lvl 8. Not a big deal compare to someone going from prestige down to 1, but it is obviously the same bug. I have yet to be disconnected from a server or even have any stutters. I smell bull$hit. I don't think its the servers, I think its either the game or their stat storage soft/hardware.

Loved the remarks Activision made in that conversation posted above. Its amazing how American companies have smashed business ethics into a little and shoved it up Courtney Love's b-hole.

Exact same thing just happened to me moments ago. Joined a server and the map changed while loading, although this time my game just showed me the background and wouldn't load. Closed the game joined a server and I was rank 1.

I used to be Rank 46 and 3rd Prestige. Screw you Treyarch.

the rank reset is not my biggest problem, it is the fact i cannot make changes in custom classes/killstreaks etc. this game is getting dull quickly without the option to choose what kind of weapons and killstreaks i want to use.

Yeah but I'm about to unlock custom classes and I'm assuming ill be in the same boat. My emblem and playercard has stayed the same so far.

EDIT: Just ranked up and yep, cant change a thing. I'm stuck with reflex sights on a commando, 74u and mp5. Only had them for the challenge and now I can never take it off. At least its funny that I can use the commando at rank 4..

In the Steam Client, right-click on Black Ops Multiplayer, then click Delete Local Content.
When that is done, right-click on Black Ops Multiplayer, then click Install
Can you update your classes now?

Please check the attachement from my first message, and notice i am rank 20ish and have the ak47 to play with, and also see custom 6, wich is locked, but filled in with STONER..

Try resetting your custom classes to default and then save them. Once you have done that try customizing your classes again and see if they will save.

Dude Im going though the same thing, keep telling me to try things that don't work.
ive unistall reinstalled, deleted local content you name it, i even played up untill i presteged again in unlocked the six slot again but it was still custom class i had set up before error in this BETA game. and i think it will probably happen to everyone who owns the game eventually, because servers are crap and disconnect you repeatedly. i have been a loyal COD pc player for many years and if i dont get satisfaction in the way of a fix or full refund i will never buy another activision, treyarchy, or steam game again.

I would say from reading all the posts it is definitely getting there. There is a complete lack of communication. David Vonderhaar for example is solely focused on the PS3:

pcdev has not updated us on specific changes and JD2020 is nowhere to be found. Treyarch might actually be aware of this issue and many others but absolutely no updates :mad:

My friend has had this happen to him twice now since it first came out.

It's obviously an issue with Steam Cloud, but it happens on a lot of Steam-oriented games. Just look at Alien Swarm for instance, many people had loss of stats at beginning, but was eventually fixed.

However, their development team was more PC-oriented rather Console, so I don't foresee a fix on this game anytime soon. :P

Luckily my stats are not reset. I'm still on level 26 presitge 1 but just can't when i got AUG unlocked i purchase it. Well actually i can buy it and equit it as i see fit but when i exit from class creator it always resets the class to previous one.

I can change all six classes anyway i want except if i buy the damn AUG it will reset all changes when returning back to menu.

I haven't had any issues with this game (lag and stuttering ofc) but now when i finally have a fluently running game why does it have to start giving this kind of s**t so frustrating.

Atleast in MW2 you could make backup of your player stats and restore them if they were corrupted.

I have contacted there forum, seen people post here, every day I am twittering to ask them about information on this issue, and I like most others have been ignored completely.

There support says exactly the same as HeerKoning1986 to me and my friend (who is having the custom class problem) even called them and basically told him that he would be "lucky" if something was done about them, and the word lucky is exactly what they used on the phone.

I am not asking them to come up with a fix tomorrow or something, but I am hoping they will at least tell us they are working on it or trying out a thing or 2 instead of just ignoring us.

Got the same problem last night, can't believe it! I was prestige 4 level 45, over 100hours into the game, and then i got reset to level 1 prestige 0 and can't edit my classes and stuff... It really sucks, I can't play the game anymore! I raged so hard last night.. Now I'm just p**sed off, gonna find another game until they fix this glitched beta-like game -_-. But I doubt we are ever going to see our stats restored.

I didnt get to 1st prestige b4 this bug got me. I was normal level 39.. and now im 17 again , and cant change anything on my classes.
