EvE won't run. Splash screen then nothing.

Just vanishes. Never launches to fullscreen. A check of TaskMan shows an .exe running but nothing happens. Did repair, did steam cache check, ran outside of STEAM as admin, etc.

Dead as dead.

Some people have had same problem and I think they got it sorted. There is a solution somewhere here on those pages, so you gotta search! Sorry, I can't remember the fix.
Also, if you can't find it here go to EVE Online forums (on official website) and have a look there ;)

The splash screen is the little box that pops up, I guess?

If so, then I'm having the same problem, except I'm using the trial.

My fix worked. I booted back in to OSX and play the Mac version. :)

Um, I think you misunderstood. The PC version won't run. The OSX one will, heh.

make sure you have direct x9 installed. That was my problem, installed it and worked fine after that.

Anyway, I'm bootcamped into Windows. Still nothing for me either. Going back to OSX now :)

If anyone else is having this problem, I seem to get it if I launch Eve through steam, I ge the splash screen, then nothing. If I load it through it's exe I don't get any problems.

I know this is an old thread, but it's the first one that came up when I did my search, so I thought I'd post my fix in here in case anyone else runs into this problem.

Running Windows 7 x64. EVE shows the splash screen, then nothing. Had an exefile.exe running in Task Manager, but nothing else.

I tried verifying the files through Steam, tried re-installing DirectX, neither of those helped.

Ran repair.exe from G:\Steam\SteamApps\common\eve online\

It had to download a pile of missing files. Took a good 30 minutes or so. But, after the repair finished, my game ran fine.

Having some problem. Have downloaded Eve online in steam. But when I try to run it, "splash" screen appears, start loading game but then nothing happened.

I tried that repair file in Eve Online root directory and looking what it says. It started downloading over 3 gigabytes of files.
