Yeah, I'm learning the hard way. I bought a gift pack (a different game). Of the friends I gifted it to, only one said thanks. I tried trading spare copies until I found out that's illegal. Then I asked for a handout of a different game (one often gifted for free). In return I was going to respond with a surprise gift (ie: rewarding generosity). Then I was warned that was illegal too.

These gift packs are a pain. Can't even give them away for fear of getting banned. I understand the point is to gift them to friends, but what are my chances that 10 of my friends don't already own a particular popular game? And in my case, my friends didn't really appreciate the gift. I should have just spent the money on myself instead of wasting my efforts on gifting.
