View Full Version : A couple of questions concerning the update...

Luckily, I noticed the problems with deleted saves on here and backed up my user.settings file before allowing the update. Sure enough, it reset my progress, but putting in the old user.settings fixed it. Will there be any compatibility issues with using the old file?

Also, to test out the new patch, I replayed a few early levels. After completing them, I noticed that the record time in the menu was till showing all zeroes (I had just figured it didn't put up your first completion time). Is the record time feature currently broken?

And finally... how can I get the old speed back? The new speed setting pretty much kills any relaxing aspects of the game, which I liked. Now it plays far too much like Galcon Fusion with less options and no multiplayer. One of the developers (Rudolf I think?) mentioned possibly editing the speed back in an earlier post; how would I go about this? Thanks in advance.

The user.settings file should not be in the update and I've contacted Valve to rectify this - I didn't supply it to them so I don't know what's going on.

I'm not aware of any level-time bugs but this is the second report since last night so I will have a look tomorrow (I'm off at college today and training tonight so I won't have a chance for about another 24 hours to have a look at bugs).

We are also planning to allow people to use either the new settings or the old settings. We didn't think people would want to go back to the old way but that's awesome to hear as it means people are appreciating the games pace as we did when we first released it :)

Yeah we will provide something that allows both styles of play. We will either do this in a next update, or I may provide an intermediate hack. Not sure yet which one of the two, but rest assured we will offer some solution for people who prefer the old play speed. :-)

excellent news on the speed, it's atm abit too fast paced to be relaxing, which i personally enjoyed so much.
Could just sit back, listen to the soundtrack and enjoy playing it.

Rightnow it feels like it's a mass frenzy of clicking to keep up...
