Weapon attachment challenges not resetting?

Are these supposed to not reset when you prestige? I'm like third prestige and my attachments are all reaching level 9, meaning I won't be getting the nice bursts of exp every x hundred kills. I don't actually know if that's supposed to be happening because everything else aside from the "Lifetime" challenges are resetting for me. Also, ONE of my attachments DID actually reset.

You'd think if it was a bug they would have fixed it by now. Im on 3rd prestige and have all the major sights and smg upgrade challenges finished (warlord makes it so easy to finish them fast). Earning XP has slowed down alot now. Hope they do fix it soon. Anyone know if there is a way to report bugs to treyarch? Maybe some sort of batphone?

It's a bug and it's ♥♥♥♥ing annoying, levelling will slow by a good amount now that I'm done with all widely used attachments.

Yeah, it sucks. Good XP when you unlock the last one on each one(20,000) though.

One prestige I pushed to get 20k on Reflex, RDS, and Grip only to find they didn't reset.

I've heard from some PC player that they sometimes do get reset after a prestige but not all of them and its completely random if it does or not. I could prolly prestige today so I'll see whut happens. So far no reply by Treyarch on the topic in their forums. Maybe I should bump it every hour until something happens? Would that work?!

Just don't bother with "underbarrel" attachments.

Tube, flamethrower and masterkety shotgun all reset each prestige so either get 1000 kills with them in 1 prest (which is not really possible or sane), or leave them alone altogether.

Its going to be a loooooong way to the next prestige. Maybe by then Treyarch will realize their PC customers are being plagued by horrible bugs and they will do something. Not likely I know but I can dream.

This is a frustrating bug many players experience. Another bug with prestiging is that if you happen to have bought a lot of attachments, cammos, reticles, recticle colors, lens colors for a certain weapon, you must save that total amount of COD Points to purchase it again. I had to save over 22,000 COD Points this prestige cycle just to be able to purchase the AUG. This is ridiculous.

It's a shame they can't release a hotfix to resolve small issues like this instead of waiting for the release of the next big patch.

Does anyone here NOT have this bug? Because when I opened a ticket with activision support they replied and said the bug team hadn't heard about this problem before. So is there anyone out there who doesnt have this?

Also, out of curiosity: Does anyone with this problem also have their Steam Cloud Support turned off? Because I do. I have absolutely not clue if this has anything to do with the bug but I am going to turn it on now and see what happens next time I prestige.

It's a bug. It's not intentional. Activision support is stupid.

Latest patch was suppose to fix it but it failed. If I'm not wrong the attachments that you completed before the patch will still not reset. Attachment that you didn't completed before the patch will reset.

I guess monkeys in Treyarch studio aren't getting peanut butter anymore hence the lower quality of patches.

I had the same problem where I went to do my 3rd prestige and it wouldn't reset my rank. So, I kept hitting prestige, closing the game, rebooting, repeat. Finally it changed my rank back to Lvl 1 Prestige 3 but it kept my Custom Class 1with, Commando, Stela-3, Lightweight Pro, SoH Pro, Marathon Pro. As I kept ranking, I couldn't buy any of the guns I unlocked nor would it recognize the initial challenges like, "5 kills with AR".

The solution is, go in to each one of your custom classes and in the bottom right hand corner click on Reset to Default. Once you have done it to EVERY class, it will now allow you to unlock all your challenges like; SMG I-V, AR I-V, etc.

Yeah, it's def good when you get the 20,000xp ones but once you have them it's pretty suck.

Yeah I thought it was good at first too, then I finished all the attachment challenges that were any good. I only have underbarrel attachments and some of the special attachments that are only for certain guns like the Low Power Scope.

No, it doesn't tbh. This is about the attachment challenges. You are talking about different challenges. Start a new thread.

Anyone here still having this problem? I may have a solution if yes. It has worked for two people so far but I am hesitant to try myself until I know whether or not Treyarch has fixed it. I may prestige without the fix to test. I'm very interested to hear anyone out there still having this problem (who have prestiged since the latest patch).

AFAIK this problem was never fixed? But since I finished 15th prestige a long while back it is not really an issue. Actually it wasn't that much of issue even when I was in prestige mode. This game is far easier than MW2 to finish all the prestige levels.
