View Full Version : Tropico 3 is great... except for 1 thing...

Several of the sandbox scenarios have areas of terrain that you can not build on, even though they're flat (or nearly completely flat). It's real annoying to be building my housing district and then hit a patch of terrain I will never be able to build on.

There's also a lot of areas that would make great tourist hotspots but the beaches are inaccessible. El Presidente needs some dynamite and heavy equipment.

I wish the game let you execute construction workers in order to motivate them to work faster. Maybe in Tropico 4

It's only in the scenario maps, not the randomly generated ones (that I've seen). Random islands look too similar, I like to play some of the better designed scenarios.. but I can't cause of this sometimes. It's sort of a major bug seeing as you can't build anything on those spots, so I'd hope they might fix it (then again, hoping someone views these forums is probably a long shot).

I agree, it's a pain. But I have also entertained the idea that this limitation could be intentional - forcing you to make the most efficient use of space.

Yes, because it makes sense a massive patch of flat land next to my palace should not be sustainable.

Specially hate putting down the wind turbines. The game doesn't let you place em on pretty much any mountain. You gotta go over the entire map with your mouse just to find the best spot.
