Elaboration

Hey, I skipped this puzzle when I first got it and now I'm trying to replay it through the main menu.

The problem is, only two foods - the burger and the chicken - "snap" to the plates on the table. I tried many, many times to put the other foods down on every plate, even using the same mouse movements as I did with the burger and chicken, but upon releasing the mouse the food snaps back to the top row.

This makes it impossible for me to solve this puzzle.

Also another (wording) problem I had: maybe I overlooked something, but I had trouble discerning who was married and who was not, so I could not understand the "spouse" rule.

The two people sitting at the far end of the table are married. The two people sitting at the left side of the table are married, as are the two people sitting at the right side.

Doesn't that make the rules conflict?

1. No one ordered food resembling their spouse.
2. One lady ordered a meal resembling the fish-eating man sitting next to her.

If everyone is sitting next to their spuse, how does that work?

Unless "next to" is not the same as "side by side"...

This. One woman is sitting "between" two men. No other women are. The one next to her is her husband, the one catercorner to her is eating fish.

Yeah I'd solved that eventually, with 3 hints.... Actually got that part without hints, but the rest...

Anyway, looking on at the table picture, I'd hardly say they are "next to" each other even though there's no one between them.
